'Walking Dead' Cast Pays Tribute to Late Stuntman at Comic-Con

Norman Reedus waves to the fans while stepping out for The Walking Dead panel held during 2017 Comic-Con on Friday afternoon (July 21) in San Diego, Calif.

Other cast members in attendance included Andrew Lincoln, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Melissa McBride, Danai Gurira, Lauren Cohan, Chandler Riggs, Lennie James, Seth Gilliam, and Khary Payton.

The trailer for season eight was unveiled during the panel and showrunner Scott M. Gimple also paid tribute to John Bernecker, the stuntman who died after an on-set accident earlier this month.

“We didn’t know if we should do this panel today. But we wanted to be here for you and do something for John,” he said (via THR). “John was someone who was beloved in the stunt community. He was living his dream, and he helped other people do the same.”

'Walking Dead' Season 7B Gets Official Synopsis & Photos!

The Walking Dead is set to return for the second half of season seven next month and the first photos and an official synopsis have been revealed!

While Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and his group spent the first half of the season under the rules of Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), the second half of the season will focus on them preparing to go to war with him.

Here’s the official synopsis: “Rick’s group will find out yet again that the world isn’t what they thought it was. It’s much bigger than anything they’ve seen so far. While they have a singular purpose – to defeat Negan – it won’t come easy. More importantly, victory will require more than Alexandria. They need the numbers of the Kingdom and the Hilltop, but, similar to how Rick felt, Ezekiel (Khary Payton) and Gregory (Xander Berkeley) do not want bloodshed. To convince them otherwise will take more than speeches. The lengths Rick and the group will have to go to in order to find weapons, food and new fighters is nothing short of remarkable.

We’ll meet new survivors in incredible places. We’ll see Rick and the group tested in ways we’ve never seen before. We’ll see treachery from people we trust. Rick is confident as he will see his group and many others band together with the common goal of taking down Negan. But no amount of planning will prepare the group for all-out war with Negan and his army.”

Make sure to catch the 7B premiere on Sunday, February 12 at 9pm on AMC!

Is Carl Getting Killed Off 'Walking Dead'? Chandler Riggs' Mom Tells Fans 'Don't Overanalyze'

Fans are already speculating about the next major death on The Walking Dead.

“ayy i just got accepted into auburn,” he tweeted earlier this month.

But it should be noted – Auburn University is less than two hours away from where the show films in Atlanta, Ga.

Meanwhile, Chandler‘s dad William also sparked speculation when he wrote on Instagram, “Completed 7 years on TWD! #freedom #thewalkingdead”

His mom Gina-Ann Riggs later replied to comments from fans on her own Instagram account, “Don’t over analyze. His seven year contract is up. That’s all he was saying, nothing else. Pretty big accomplishment for a child actor (and for the parent who had to quit his job for this child to be able to follow his dream).”

DO YOU THINK Carl will be killed off The Walking Dead?

In case you missed the news, a TWD movie is likely to happen!

The Walking Dead's Chandler Riggs Discusses Carl's Shocking Moment (Spoilers)

SPOILER ALERT! Don’t continue reading if you don’t want to know what happened on The Walking Dead mid-season premiere.

On The Walking Dead season six mid-season premiere, Chandler Riggs‘ character Carl was shot in the eye by a stray bullet from Jessie’s older son, Ron’s (Austin Abrams) gun after being stabbed by Michonne (Danai Gurira). The moment happens in the comic book.

Chandler opened up to THR about the moment and his character going forward.

“I felt like it would never happen and then when [showrunner] Scott Gimple sat down with me and told me the whole story line of season six, I was really excited to hear that Carl was going to lose his eye. That was something I’d been looking forward to that ever since I figured out that he’d live through the gunshot wound,” Chandler said. “It was a night shoot and it was really late. That whole sequence is really dark and brutal. The whole thing with Jessie and Sam was crazy. With her hand getting chopped off everything was crazy. The fun part was the whole turning around and revealing that my eye was gone.”
