Claire Danes is officially saying goodbye to Carrie Mathison on Homeland tonight, when it airs its’ series finale on Showtime.

Speaking with The Guardian, the -year-old actress opened up about how she was going to miss the character on the long-running show.

“Oh my gosh, so much,” Claire shared. “I loved her. It was just so nice to play the smartest person in the room, somebody who was so daring and unapologetically ambitious and such a badass. She’s not really going away.”

In a separate interview with CBS News, she revealed that the role was a dream for her: “It’s been great for me as an actress, ’cause so often — especially coming out of my twenties — you know, I was playing ingénues or characters who were completely defined by their romantic experience, or the guy!”

Claire also opened up about her final scene with Mandy Patinkin and the chemistry between them.

“I think that’s a wonderful and surprising love story,” she recalls of their characters’ relationship. “It’s not one that we see depicted all that often in pop culture: mentor and mentee.”

Claire continues, “In our first read-through the chemistry was really powerful and palpable. He looks uncannily like my best friend’s dad, who kind of raised me and is a wonderful person but, if [he] got mad at you, you felt pretty shitty. I think that helped: very strong Pavlovian response already built in! And he’s [Patinkin] just very good at what he does. Our partnership grew and deepened over time.”

“It’s not a casual scene,” she added about their final scene together. “I think for me that was my cathartic moment when I realized it was over, because to say goodbye to it in its entirety is just too abstract and too huge. There were some tears – many of them – and we just hugged each other for a really long time.”

The final episode of Homeland airs tonight, April 26 at 9/8c on Showtime.

There was a My So-Called Life reunion!

Wilson Cruz shared a screenshot of the Zoom call on his social media page, showing off the grown up faces of Angela, Patty, Sharon, Graham, Camille, Rayanne and Brian.

Claire Danes, Bess Armstrong, Devon Odessa, Tom Irwin, Mary Kay Place, AJ Langer, Devon Gummersall and creator Winnie Holzman caught up with each other over the video call.

“So…This happened the other night,” Wilson wrote with the pic. “Most of the #MySoCalledLife cast was available for what turned out to be a very comforting, sweet, heartfelt and overdue reunion.”

He added, “We all have such love for each other, even 26 years later. It was overwhelming to see all of those faces together.”

The only one who wasn’t available for the call was Jared Leto, who played Jordan Catalano in the series.

The opening night performance of the new Broadway musical Girl from the North Country had so many stars on the red carpet on Thursday (March 5) at the Belasco Theatre in New York City.

It was date night for married couples Claire Danes and Hugh Dancy, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Justin Mikita, and Michael C. Hall and Morgan Macgregor.

Girl from the North Country, which features the songs of Bob Dylan, is now playing on Broadway. The New York Times gave it a rave review and noted it as a Critic’s Pick.

Claire Danes and Hugh Dancy cozy up on the red carpet while attending the Roundabout Theater’s 2020 Gala held at The Ziegfeld Ballroom on Monday night (March 2) in New York City.

The married couple and current Homeland co-stars were joined at the event were joined by a few other celeb couples including Julianna Margulies and Keith Lieberthal, Alec and Hilaria Baldwin, Laura Osnes and Nathan Johnson, and Audra McDonald and Will Swenson.

The cute couples were joined by Sutton Foster, Carla Gugino, Debra Messing, Jessica Lange, Blair Underwood, Sara Sampaio, and Jane Krakowski.

Designer Michael Kors and husband Lance Le Pere, and Alan Cumming were honored at the gala with Neil Patrick Harris and Cyndi Lauper performing.

The awards are given to those who have made an indelible impact artistically and philanthropically on both theatre and Roundabout.

Claire Danes is celebrating her run on her hit Showtime series Homeland!

The 40-year-old actress happily posed alongside fashion designer and close friend Zac Posen while attending Town & Country Magazine’s Toasts Claire Danes event held on Thursday (February 26) at Sant Ambroeus West Village in New York City.

Claire was also accompanied by her husband Hugh Dancy at the event, which also celebrated the final season of Homeland. For her T&C cover story, Danes was interviewed by Zac Posen where the two spoke about the final season Homeland and her iconic 2016 Met Gala dress.

“I started the show as a barely married person, and I’m leaving the show as a mother of two. [We] just celebrated our 10-year wedding anniversary,” Claire recently told NPR. “It’s going to be a while before I can understand and I can appreciate what this is all meant to me. … More than anything, I’m filled with gratitude.”

The final episode of Homeland is set to air on Sunday, March 29!

Claire Danes paid a visit to Late Night with Seth Meyers on Monday (February 10) to talk all about the eighth and final season of Homeland!

In the interview, host Seth brought up that the 40-year-old actress had recently discovered there was a porn parody of the hit spy Showtime drama: “Umm, yeah!” she said, delighted. “I thought Mad Magazine was cool. SNL was cool. But a porn? You know your work has resonated.”

On whether she knew what it was called: “I don’t know! And I don’t think it was very impressive.”

Claire Danes also discussed working with her husband Hugh Dancy again for the first time in several years and what we can except from the end of Homeland.

The final season of Homeland is set to have just 12 episodes and will premiere on February 9. See the final trailer here!

Claire Danes made an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon last night and she told a story where she asked a “not appropriate” question to Beyonce once at an awards show!

It all started when Bey and Claire were backstage together an an awards show.

“I was at a fashion award thing, and we were both going to present. We were backstage in this little area, and she was wearing this bedazzled jumpsuit and a giant hat, and it was just everything you want Beyoncé to be.” (FYI – Claire didn’t name the show in question but we believe it was the 2016 CFDA Fashion Awards, where Beyonce wore an outfit similar to what Claire described! See photos in this post!)

“And I got really stupid. Like, my brain just stopped working. It’s intense. It’s her, right? I was talking, I was saying words and she said words back. And she said that she was a fan, I remember that distinctly. She said, ‘My husband and I really love your show, we watch it all the time.’ I was like, ‘That’s amazing,’” Claire said of their encounter. “And she said she had just finished her tour. And I said, ‘Oh, wow, you must be exhausted. Are you gonna take a little break, or something? And she said, ‘Yeah, yeah. We’re gonna go on vacation.’”

“I was like, ‘Really? Where are you gonna go?’” she continued. “And she said, ‘Yeah, no, we’re thinking about it.’ And I was like, ‘Oh, my God. You cannot ask Beyoncé where she’s going on vacation!’ Like, that’s not appropriate. That’s not something you do!”

“I said, ‘Yeah, yeah, yeah, no. Of course, yeah.’ And so, then they called me on stage and I was very happy about that, that we could end our conversation right there. But she was lovely and charming and I was just a nervous freaking wreck,” Claire added.
