Derek Fisher does an energetic dance alongside his partner Sharna Burgess on the latest episode of Dancing With the Stars on Monday (October 9) in Los Angeles.

The 43-year-old former basketball player dedicated his performance on Most Memorable Year Night to his daughter Tatum, who battled cancer as a baby.

Derek earned 23 out of 30 points for his jazz dance set to the tune of the song “Move On Up” by Curtis Mayfield.

“DWTS has been a journey of self-discovery and has opened up this vulnerability that I’ve never shown before. I think it’s great for all of my children to see a side of me that they maybe haven’t seen before,” Derek told People this week.

Derek Fisher‘s guilty pleasure is watching re-runs of the classic show Fresh Prince of Bel Air so he and partner Sharna Burgess danced to the show’s theme song on Dancing With the Stars on Monday (October 2) in Los Angeles.

The 43-year-old former basketball player did a Cha-cha-cha with Sharna and they earned 21 points out of 30, their highest score so far!

Derek said he was upset that he didn’t improve upon his score from his second to third dance, so he was happy to receive his high score.

The 43-year-old former basketball player performed a Paso doble and he earned 19 out of 30 points, the same score he received the night before for his Ballroom dance!

Derek‘s mom is a superfan of the show and he brought her on stage on the Monday night episode this week. Make sure to watch him do a foxtrot with his partner.
