Penelope Cruz lights up the sidewalk in a bright yellow suit in New York City on Wednesday (December 15).
The 47-year-old actress was spotted heading to a late night television appearance, after being honored by MoMA for her career in cinema just the night before.
During her speech at the event last night, Penelope addressed the changing landscape of movie theaters and film.
“It’s a very interesting time for film and filmmakers for audiences. With so many distribution platforms, and devices on which to watch, access to film is everywhere. We all have the ability to carry a cinema in our hand, and to watch films wherever we go,” she said. “The last few years have taken their toll on film productions. Some shutdown. Theaters closed. Cinema is changing. And we all wonder what the future of cinema looks like.”
Penelope added, “I think we’ve realized that in our world that seems hurting and scared and divided, we need all forms of art. Maybe more than ever to touch our hearts, influence our choices, spark our imagination, or sometimes just provide escape or company.”

Penelope Cruz is radiant in a beautiful red dress while arriving at the 2021 The Museum Of Modern Art Film Benefit, presented by CHANEL, held at The Museum of Modern Art on Tuesday night (December 14) in New York City.
The 47-year-old Madres Paralelas actress was joined at the event by Anne Hathaway and Diane Kruger.
Passing director Rebecca Hall, Ricky Martin, MacGruber star Kristen Wiig, Riley Keough, Zac Posen, Derek Blasberg, Jordan Roth, Sarah Arison, Delroy Lindo, Rebecca Dayan, and Sharon Coplan Hurowitz were also spotted on the red carpet.
If you’re unaware, the annual Film Benefit enables continued support of MoMA’s Department of Film collection, which is recognized as the strongest international film collection in the US, with a catalog of over 30,000 international films and four million film stills drawn from all periods and genres.

Penelope Cruz sports a very different look on the set of her new project, On The Fringe, in Madrid, Spain on Monday (November 22).
The 47-year-old actress will star alongside Luis Tosar, Aixa Villagrán, Adelfa Calvo, Nur Levi and Christian Checa in the movie, with Juna Diego Botto directing.
According to Deadline, On The Fringe is told over the course of one day, and will interweaving several stories, including that of a woman (Cruz) who has 24 hours to prevent herself and her family being evicted from their home by a bank intent on repossessing it.
Luis is set to play a passionate lawyer and activist.
The site also reports that after the movie is released in Spanish markets, Amazon Prime will stream the movie.

Penelope Cruz steps out in a chic sweater look from Chanel for the brand’s Cruise 2021/22 Fashion Show held at Dubai Creek Harbour on Tuesday (November 2) in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The 47-year-old Madres Parelelas actress was joined by Sofia Boutella and John Legend, as well as Kungs, Ruba Zarour, Faouzia, Tara Emad, and Caroline de Maigret for the fashion presentation.
The fashion for this collection was inspired by the label’s founder, Coco Chanel, and her friendship with French filmmaker and visual artist Jean Cocteau, and featured a lot of black and white fashions that took notes from an experiential film Jean directed in 1960.
Penelope, who is an ambassador for the fashion house, has been seen wearing several looks during the Madres Parelelas promotional tour.
