'South Park' Announces Second Coronavirus-Themed Special

South Park is once again addressing the pandemic.

Comedy Central announced a second coronavirus-themed South Park episode is coming, called South ParQ The Vaccination Special, which will debut on Comedy Central on March 10 at 8 p.m. ET/PT with a simulcast on MTV2.

The first-hour long special became the highest-rated episode of the series in seven years, and followed Stan, Cartman, Kyle and Kenny as they went back to school amid the “new normal.”

The upcoming special will “follow the chaos as the town clamors to get a coveted dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, and the boys face off against a militant group which is trying to prevent them getting a vaccine for their teacher,” via Hypebeast.

The teaser for the upcoming special was released at the same time as the announcement.

An iconic adult animated series is also set to be rebooted at Comedy Central.

'South Park' to Return With First Ever Hour-Long 'Pandemic Special' Episode

South Park is coming back – and addressing the current global health crisis.

The long-running series set a one-night, one-hour “Pandemic Special” for Comedy Central to air on September 30 at 8 p.m., the network revealed on Tuesday (September 15).

The show, which usually runs for 30 minutes, has never done an episode running longer than a half-hour in its 23-year history. It is still unclear when the show’s new season will premiere.

“Randy comes to terms with his role in the COVID-19 outbreak as the on-going pandemic presents continued challenges to the citizens of South Park. The kids happily head back to school but nothing resembles the normal that they once knew; not their teachers, not their homeroom, not even Eric Cartman,” the special’s summary reveals.

Last year, the South Park creators responded after China banned the series.

'South Park' Creators Respond After China Bans the Series

The beloved Comedy Central series South Park has essentially been banned from China after an episode in the show’s 23rd season criticized the country’s influence on Hollywood and American businesses.

Even though the show doesn’t officially air in China, many people in the country watch the animated series via pirated copies on the internet.

After the “Band in China” episode aired on October 2, China has scrubbed all mentions of the show from the internet there.

Matt Stone and Trey Parker, the creators of South Park, released an “official apology” to China amid the controversy.

“Like the NBA, we welcome Chinese censors into our homes and into our hearts,” they said. “We too love money more than freedom and democracy. Xi doesn’t look just like Winnie the Pooh at all. Tune into our 300th episode this Wednesday at 10! Long live the Great Communist Party of China! May this autumn’s sorghum harvest be bountiful! We good now China?”

Caitlyn Jenner Steps Out After 'South Park' Defends Her Hero Status

Caitlyn Jenner wears a white polo shirt and a pink skirt while stepping out to run errands on Thursday (September 17) in Calabasas, Calif.

The 65-year-old former Olympian was mentioned on last night’s season premiere of South Park and the show defended her status as a hero.

When the character Kyle says that “I don’t think Caitlyn Jenner is a hero,” the new character PC Principal suspends him from school.

“This kind of transphobic and bigoted hate speech isn’t going to fly here, bro,” PC Principal says. “I thought we were all on board that Caitlyn Jenner is an amazing beautiful woman who had the exquisite bravery of a beautiful butterfly flying against the wind. And then this s–t flies out of people’s mouths!”

Nick Jonas Thinks His 'South Park' Parody is Hilarious

Nick Jonas and his girlfriend Olivia Culpo hold hands after a dinner date at Mastro’s Steakhouse on Wednesday evening (April 29) in Beverly Hills, Calif.

The 22-year-old singer recently opened up to Elle in a candid new interview and he revealed what he really thinks about South Park‘s parody of the Jonas Brothers.

“There was so much attention on my sex life at 15. It was uncomfortable. If you were talking about a 15-year-old’s sex life or a 17-year-old’s in any other context it would be totally obscene,” Nick said. “I wasn’t able to enjoy [the episode] when it came out. [Laughs] But now I think it’s hilarious.”

FYI: Olivia is wearing a Ramy Brook top.

Lorde Sings the 'South Park' Song That Mocks Her - Watch Now!

Lorde has proved that she is a good sport when she gets mocked in the media – she has sung the South Park song about herself!

The song was featured in the October 1 episode titled “Gluten Free Ebola” and featured a version of the 17-year-old singer going “I am Lorde ya ya ya” over and over again.

In the episode that aired the week after, it was asserted that Lorde is really just the alter ego of the South Park character Randy Marsh.

“I have officially been the subject of two South Park episodes, and that is weird and cool,” she tweeted. On Instagram she added, “this is actually surprisingly cute – and from what i can tell also has a message of transgender acceptance (i’m still very new with this type of humour so i’m not sure if was actually genuine but it seemed so to me).”

Why Isn't 'South Park' New Tonight? Studio Misses Deadline!

For the first time ever in its seventeen season run, South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone have missed their deadline and a new episode of the animated comedy will not be airing tonight (October 16).

The show famously runs its production different than every other animated show on television, which are normally written several months in advance, according to EW. South Park remains current by creating all the episodes from scratch six days before they air.

Unfortunately on Tuesday evening, South Park Studios lost power for three hours.

“From animation to rendering to editing and sound, all of their computers were down for hours and they were unable to finish episode 1704 ‘Goth Kids 3: Dawn of the Posers’ in time for air tonight,” Comedy Central said in a statement.

“It sucks to miss an air date but after all these years of tempting fate by delivering the show last minute, I guess it was bound to happen,” co-creator Trey Parker added.

ARE YOU SAD there won’t be a new South Park tonight?
