The opening day for Star Wars: The Last Jedi is one for the history books!

The film earned $104.8 million on Friday (December 15) at the domestic box office, which is the second biggest opening day ever behind only Star Wars: The Force Awakens, according to THR.

The total includes the $45 million earned by the film during Thursday night previews, which was also the second biggest total for previews.

The Force Awakens grossed $119 million on its opening day in 2015, on its way to a record-breaking $247.9 million opening weekend. The Last Jedi is on track to earn around $215 million for the weekend, but that number could still grow.

Only three films have ever crossed $200 million during an opening weekend – The Force Awakens, Jurassic World at $208.8 million, and The Avengers at $207.4 million.

Carrie Fisher‘s dog Gary went to see a screening of the late actress’ new movie Star Wars: The Last Jedi on opening night… dressed in a BB8 costume!

Gary was at the screening with Carrie‘s former assistant and sat on her lap throughout the movie.

The beloved pet pooch’s “ears perked up every time she was on screen,” according to an ABC News reporter on the scene.

Gary‘s caretaker showed him the film’s trailer two months ago. “Just watched the new trailer of The Last Jedi and my mom looks more beautiful than ever,” the dog’s Instagram account posted.

There are so many Easter Eggs and hidden moments in Star Wars: The Last Jedi that only the biggest fans of the franchise will catch, but we are recapping a lot of them here for you!

Now that the new Star Wars movie is in theaters across the country, we have to talk about that totally random cameo!

Yep, that was Justin Theroux in the role of “Slicer” during the scene in the casino.

Justin‘s character was a hacker and codebreaker who was sought after by Finn and Rose. The cameo only lasts for a few moments before mayhem breaks out in the casino.

Some of the other cameos in the movie include Prince Harry and Prince William, who are rumored to be Stormtroopers!

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is set to hit theaters on Friday, December 14 (or Thursday at midnight for the franchise’s biggest fans!), and you’ll want to know if you should stay for anything after the credits.

Usually, Star Wars films do not have any additional scenes or footage when the credits roll, however, this film offers a small exception.

The film welcomes back the new characters from The Force Awakens including Rey (Daisy Ridley), Finn (John Boyega), Kylo Ren (Adam Driver), and brings back some other characters including Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill). Kelly Marie Tran, Laura Dern, Lupita Nyong’o, Oscar Isaac, and more also star.
