The cast of the upcoming movie The Suicide Squad is hard at work and we have new photos from set!

A bunch of cast members were spotted on set on Thursday (October 10) in Atlanta, Ga.

Returning star Jai Courtney (Captain Boomerang) joined new cast members Nathan Fillion, Pete Davidson, Michael Rooker, Flula Borg, Sean Gunn, and Mayling Ng.

It is rumored that Nathan is playing Arm-Fall-Off-Boy, Pete is playing Blackguard, Michael is playing Savant, Flula is playing Javelin, Sean is playing Weasal, and Mayling is playing Mongal. None of these casting reports have been officially confirmed yet.

Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn is directing this sequel to 2016′s Suicide Squad.

James Gunn just unveiled the entire cast of the upcoming flick The Suicide Squad, but it comes with a warning!

The 52-year-old director took to his Twitter to share the cast but seemingly hinted there will be quite a few deaths in the movie.

“Don’t get too attached. #TheSuicideSquad,” James captioned the list.

The list includes returning cast Margot Robbie, Viola Davis, Joel Kinnaman, and Jai Courtney as well as previously announced John Cena, Nathan Fillion and Daniela Melchior.

Other cast includes Idris Elba, Taika Waititi, Peter Capaldi, Pete Davidson, Storm Reid, Michael Rooker, David Dastmalchian, Alice Braga, Sean Gunn, Flula Borg, Joaquín Cosío, Mayling Ng, Juan Diego Botto, Steve Agee, Tinashe Kajese, Julio Ruis and Jennifer Holland.

The Suicide Squad is currently set to premiere on August 6, 2021.

Nathan Fillion is joining the cast of The Suicide Squad!

The 48-year-old Guardians of the Galaxy actor is reportedly the latest name attached to the upcoming James Gunn-directed film, according to Deadline on Sunday (August 25).

The actor’s role is still being kept under wraps. Nathan‘s worked with director James Gunn several times in the past, including on Guardians of the Galaxy, Slither and Super.

The Suicide Squad‘s table read will reportedly occur on September 11, with production to follow later in the month. The film is set to be released on August 6, 2021. Find out who else is set to join the cast!

Daniela Melchior, an up-and-coming Portuguese actress, will reportedly join the cast of the upcoming Suicide Squad sequel.

The young star will play the role of Ratcatcher, who was originally portrayed as a man in the comics but will be reimagined for the movie, according to Variety.

Ratcatcher will be “Latina, an idealist, an innocent, a complainer, a warrior for goodness, and a lazy millennial all wrapped into one,” GWW reported earlier this week.

Margot Robbie and Jai Courtney are returning as Harley Quinn and Captain Boomerang, respectively. Also joining the cast are Idris Elba and John Cena.

John Cena may be taking on a big new role!

The 41-year-old wrestling star is in talks to join the upcoming Suicide Squad sequel, Variety reported on Wednesday (April 17).

As already confirmed, Margot Robbie is returning as Harley Quinn and Jai Courtney is returning as Captain Boomerang.

Idris Elba will play a new character. Will Smith will not be returning as Deadshot. It is not yet known who John is in talks to play.

James Gunn will write and direct the movie, which is expected to go into production this fall.

The movie is set to hit theaters on August 6, 2021.

Will Smith is not going to be in the upcoming Suicide Squad sequel.

The 50-year-old actor, who played Deadshot in the original movie, will not return for the upcoming sequel, Variety reported on Wednesday evening (February 27).

According to the report, scheduling was “the ultimate factor…the decision was made on amicable terms between both sides with no hard feelings.”

Margot Robbie and Jared Leto are among the names still rumored to return.

James Gunn plans to start production on the movie this fall, which is set for a release date of August 6, 2021.

James Gunn is in talks to helm the Suicide Squad follow-up The Suicide Squad, which is due out in August of 2021.

The director, who is already writing a script for the movie, is confirmed to be in negotiations for directing the film as well, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

James made headlines in 2018 after being fired from the third installment of Guardians of the Galaxy due to newly resurfaced insensitive jokes from a decade ago on Twitter.

The movie is being considered a relaunch, and not a direct sequel, and is reportedly going in “a new direction with a mostly all-new cast of characters and actors.”
