Miley Cyrus is taking on a new role in her godmother Dolly Parton‘s movie!

According to THR, the 29-year-old “Nothing Breaks Like a Heart” performer has joined the star-studded cast of Dolly‘s upcoming holiday movie Dolly Parton’s Mountain Magic Christmas.

NBC announced the movie back in May as part of its upfront presentation, but a release date hasn’t been announced yet.

Music Legends Willie Nelson and Loretta Lynn Receive Coronavirus Vaccines

Country music superstars Loretta Lynn and Willie Nelson both confirmed that they have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine!

Loretta announced she and her daughter Peggy Lynn had been vaccinated in an Instagram post on Sunday (January 17).

“Well, I bundled up and Peggy Jean and I rolled out of Hurricane Mills so I could get this vaccine,” she wrote. “I’m sure glad to get it and am sure ready to put Covid in the rear view mirror! And I enjoyed the mom daughter time, too!”

Meanwhile, Willie went to a drive-thru clinic in Texas with wife Annie to receive his shot.

Annie told Rolling Stone, “He was bragging yesterday after he got it that he didn’t even have a sore arm. Now, today, of course his arm is sore. We’re both just a little tired. I don’t know if we wouldn’t be tired anyway, but we’re gonna do what they said and let the vaccine do its job.”

Willie Nelson Signs Handmade Masks To Be Auctioned Off & The Profits Will Go To Make Even More

Willie Nelson is giving back two fold in the fight against coronavirus.

According to a new report, via People, the 86-year-old singer has signed a few face masks made by a local Houston resident.

Tanya Boike spoke with television station KTRK about the gift, that turned into a charitable fundraiser, about donating the masks to Willie and his wife Annie D’Angelo to stay safe.

However, Willie‘s granddaughter Noelle Ward, who is friends with Tanya, unveiled a few different plans for the ones she had made.

“[Noelle] texted me a few minutes later and said ‘Pops would rather sign these and have them auction them off. That way you can get more materials and keep making these masks for free,’” she shared.

After hearing his plan, Tanya set up a fundraising page with the signed masks, and each one starting at a bid of $200.

As of right now, the fundraiser has raised $450 for materials to make even more masks.

Willie Nelson Has Quit Smoking Marijuana - Here's Why

Willie Nelson has been known throughout his career for his marijuana use, but now he is no longer smoking the substance.

The 86-year-old country music legend is focusing on his health these days, and the includes quitting smoking.

“I have abused my lungs quite a bit in the past, so breathing is a little more difficult these days and I have to be careful,” Willie told KSAT. “I started smoking cedar bark, went from that to cigarettes to whatever. And that almost killed me.”

“I don’t smoke anymore – take better care of myself,” Willie said of his remedy.

Willie has often been the subject of death rumors, but he’s still going strong.

“I don’t give a [expletive deleted] I’m here, I’m glad to be here,” he said with a smile. “I’m lucky to be here.”

Willie Nelson Cancels Tour Because of 'Breathing Problem'

Willie Nelson is canceling his tour.

The 86-year-old musician posted an update for fans on his Facebook on Wednesday (August 7).

“To my fans, I’m sorry to cancel my tour, but I have a breathing problem that I need to have my doctor check out. I’ll be back,” he wrote.

Following the release of his 69th studio album Ride Me Back Home earlier this year, the country legend was set to hit the road at stops including New York City, Virginia Beach and Cincinnati. He had nearly 30 more performances scheduled prior to the announcement.

He has a history of emphysema according to Variety, and has previously canceled and rescheduled a number of shows over the years because of his condition.

Willie Nelson, Dave Matthews, & John Mellencamp to Headline Farm Aid 2019

Tons of country legends will be hitting the stage at the 2019 Farm Aid!

The music festival announced that headliners this year will be Willie Nelson, Neil Young, John Mellencamp and Dave Matthews along with performances by Bonnie Raitt, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, Margo Price, Jamey Johnson, Tanya Tucker, Brothers Osborne, Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real, Yola, and Particle Kid.

“We’re bringing Farm Aid to the heartland because we need to show the country what’s happening to the people who grow our food and take care of our soil and water,” John Mellencamp. “We want family farmers to know that we won’t let them go down without a fight. And neither should you–farmers need us, and we need farmers.”

The 2019 Farm Aid will be held in East Troy, Wisconsin’s Alpine Valley Music Theater on September 21st. Tickets go on sale this Friday.
