Angelina Jolie's Presidential Pick is Undecided

Angelina Jolie's Presidential Pick is Undecided

United Nations goodwill ambassador Angelina Jolie hasn’t decided who she’s voting for between Presidential hopefuls John McCain and Barack Obama.

The 33-year-old new mom said in a statement to Variety managing editor Ted Johnson via political adviser Trevor Neilson: “I have not decided on a candidate. I am waiting to see the commitments they will make on issues like international justice, refugees and how to address the needs of children in crisis around the world.”

Back in February, Angie wrote an op-ed piece for the Washington Post, “[calling] on each of the presidential candidates and congressional leaders to announce a comprehensive refugee plan with a specific timeline and budget as part of their Iraq strategy.”

Well, that’s easy… she can’t vote for McCain since he’s so privileged (you know, being white and all). That’s how she picks her favourite candidates as well as her favourite children.

  • Cola

In the end, she’ll be voing for Obama like every important Hollywood celebrity. She’s not as ignorant sounding as her dad, Jon Voight.

I hope the stupid Brangieloonies and Aniston loonies don’t turn this thread into a mess. They’re both so annoying.

  • a total fan

Being an actress doesn’t mean she is stupid ,when it comes to politics. She just might have an insight to many things being an United Nations goodwill ambassador. With that said ,it doesn’t mean that I will depend on actors to tell me who to vote for.

  • DummDumm

She is looking for the winner.
It will later say that they O (s) bama, if he wins.
It will later say it was for McCain if he wins.

That is an ignorant statement Cola, you don’t know sh*t about who Angie will vote for! And important HW celebrities should not be the basis for who we choose to vote for. Use your own judgement.

I really glad Angie isn’t automatically jumping on the Obama train……I’m wondering what the fans here have to say about this because if I remember right they were all trashing Jon Voight beacuse he is a McCain supporter. What are you going to say about Angie if SHE votes McCain?? It just goes to show all you who thought you knew her every feeling about everything, lmao, you guys don’t know sh*t about what really goes through Angie’s mind! :-)
    YAY ANGIE!!!

  • manta

You mean she’s actually registered to vote?
Didn’t she brag about the fact she had never voted?Whoa, she’s seen the light.
Anyway when november comes she’ll be too busy with the Oscar campaign to waste her precious time with a presidential race.

  • oh snap

who is she voting for? It’s her own damn business. Y’all are up her booty no matter what she does so it’s good if she just stays neutral.

  • ala

i really love the fact that she hasn’t decided and is considering what both have to say cuz many people don’t they just vote without really considering what each candidate truly beileves in so it’s good to take your time and make a decision and i am so glad she is saying its good to look into them carefully before choosing

  • an oldie

I hope Brad and Angelina don’t reveal who they are going to vote for. It’s fine to bring awareness to charitable causes. It’s not wise to clamor your political beliefs to people who don’t give a fcuk. All they do is bash you, no matter what you say or do.

  • LEO

What’s up with all the fcuking knuckle-dragging, lamebrain tards who constantly come on an Angelina thread saying that they don’t care what she thinks, or what she wears, or what movie she’s in but can’t seem to stop themselves from clicking on her thread. What is wrong with you people. Do you have some sort of disorder where you have to constantly talk about people you care nothing about.

And its always the same tards who do it over and over again. If you don’t care about her stop clicking on her thread. All you are doing is making her even more popular than she already is. Don’t you get it you MORONS if you don’t pay attention to her you won’t see her face. ITS SO FCUKING SIMPLE.

Well it figures, since she always talks like she’s so committed to international issues and the promotion of world peace, yet she hardly addresses the Iraq war topic or anything allusive to Bush administration.
She doesn’t deserve that much recognition just for talking about refugees or giving away money. If she was so involved she would talk openly about politics and wouldn’t give these vague statements.
Makes sense, that way she’s still worshipped and treated like she’s Mother Theresa.

IT IS A SLOW NEWS DAY AND ANGELINA’S NAME GUARANTEES HITS. This is the 4th website I have found this on and it is NOT news…just a traffic makers (and yes, I am aware I am a contributor) .BTW, just because you’re an actress, a plumber or a nose picker …. doesn’t mean you can’t have valid statements or thoughts about politics or the world around you be it your backyard or a more global concern. People really need to grow the fuck up.

You know, I read about that in my local newspaper this morning. And to tell you the truth, it concerns me. :-(

I mean, I don’t honestly know if I would look at my girl the same positive way if she were to come out and actually endorse McCain — a guy who not-so-jokingly said he’d “Bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb Iran” and suggested that Iraqis be sent cigarettes to “kill them off.” The man’s an increasingly-dementia ladled, hateful warmonger, who sounds a lot like her own crazy-ass, estranged father Jon.

It would tell me that she’s narrow-minded and not concerned at all with the U.S. domestic issues that are also of utmost importance in this election. And what about the other issues like women’s issues?
Shouldn’t that be a part of her voting criteria as well?

This indecision on Angie’s part, I must admit, and regretably, puts a taint on her in my view. It would concern me because otherwise, I’m a big supporter of Angelina and her humanitarian efforts.

As a matter of fact, I would prefer that she not vote at all, if she’s not going to vote for Obama. But if she doesn’t, I hope she keeps her mouth shut and not do like her crazy-ass father did and announce it to the world, because I think she’d soon realize that any goodwill towards her now would be diminished among even her most hardcore fans.

    :-(

Thank you for saying that. The same people do the same thing on both threads. It’s getting so old and stupid. Seems to be a mental condition. Any way why can’t who she vote for be private. I would be upset if I had to reveal who I was going to vote for.

ANGIE IS FULL OF SCHITT. IF SHE DOES NOT KNOW WHAT THE CANDIDATES STAND FOR BY NOW, SHE WILL NEVER KINOW.

EVERYBODY AND THEIR GRANDMOTHER KNOWS HOW THE CANDIDATES STAND ON THE ISSUES.

WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ANGIE. HAVE YOU BEEN LISTENING?

    OBAMA 2008!

  • aress

Of course she can’t afford to take side right now.You know it would hurt so badly her bid for the Nobel Peace prize. She must appear so above mean little struggles.
She’s so oecumenical, her endorsement is too precious to be wasted on either one of those common mortals.

  • Hillary all the way

I am a Hillary supporter and I will vote for John McCain.

  • sillyme

Well, panderer that he is, I’m sure Barack Obama will come up with some kind of policy that says exactly what he thinks Jolie might want to hear. Although, he did introduce that global poverty act, which will commit the US taxpayers to billions of dollars every year from now on to fight poverty in other countries.

But, I agree with the poster above…I hope they keep it to themselves. I’m tired of celebs coming out and telling who they’re going to vote for, as if it means something to the rest of us.

And, the fact is, many Americans feel the same way as Angie. According to the polls about 10-12% of Americans have not made up their minds.

Angelina is popular, people like to Love and Hate her. Either way, it still makes her popular, LOL!

  • truvy

Via a political advisor? Taking ourselves a little too serious, aren’t we?

  • Patrice

Obviously Angie and Brad are not revealing who they are voting for.
Best they leave it that way. Some people can hate them over what they wore last friday so if they put their political choices out there all it will do is cause nasty ugly posts thru the whole thread.

Hope we get another thread soon that is not a tab . Those Ass Us tab threads are so full of lies we might as well be reading The National Enquirer.
I really like Angie and Brad if there is no news so be it.
Hate when the tabs make it up because there are people who love to gossip about lies.

I got my Hello and People Mag with pics yesterday. Couldnt be more pleased. I cracked up at Brads few coments and the pics are so down to earth. Priceless.

    What a waste of time.

BREAKING NEWS….. Angelina Jolie is not sure who she will vote for.!

    Like the world cares.

I’m sure if your were to ask Brad he would repeat in a bland monotone her word for word thoughts.

  • dianad1968

Angie says, ” I have not yet decided on a candidate”, NOT ” I have not yet decided who i am endorsing”. I suppose when she decides, she will vote her conscience without making it public, as she has to work with whomever wins , in her humanitarian efforts.

I certainly have not decided if i will vote, and may decide the morning of. Some Obama supporters are turning me off with their “either or attitude”, and i am a registered Democrat.

Angie has said she is a reistered Independent, a move i am considering myself.

Precisely, the fact that Angie decided to let Trevor issue the statement is beacuse her Dad insinuated that she likes Mccain more than Obama. I think she has said before that it is best for her to be neutral and independent because you need the backing of both parties when it comes to pushing for bills relating to her causes.

I admire Angie for telling people that her priorities are really the causes and plight of the Iraq efugees, which by the way are the creation of the United States, and which they should be responsible for its resolution.

Why would Angie be concerned with the domestic issues of America, when the American people are much much better off than all of those refugees, which in the first place have existed because of the war created by the US.

Even if you think Obama has less to do with the Iraq war, it is just right that Angie will not vote for him, if he will have nothing to do with those refugees. The war happened already, what is more important is how to finish it and help those that needed help.

And I think McCain’s agenda is better in helping those refugees, because he knows better the foreign situation than Obama.

As you know there are really not much difference bet Obama and Mccain in most of the domestic issues, women issue, economic issues, etc and both would be good presidents. The problem is mostly on international issues since Obama is perceived weak because of his lack of experience.
