Doesn’t she have enough money to buy a child with no family at all? in a country where it’s easier? that’s what they all do…

An absolutely absurd decision. Whatever you think about Madonna, she can provide the child with more opportunities than living in an orphanage in an improvised country.

FINALLY!!! someone stood up to madonna. she can’t always manipulate and use people with her money to get what she wants. this stupid original attention ***** (SEX BOOK anybody) has to follow the law of the country. she can’t keep breaking it, live in malawi for 18 months like the law says!! do it you lazy *****!! other wise you don’t get to adopt any child!! she needs to adopt the many orphans in the USA! and stop tryna be like Angelina! granny vadge madge is such a USER!! grow the **** up!!

Sad that a child will miss out on a better life. But the law is the law and she like everyone else has to abide. Good to know that some laws will not be bent just because of money and status.

Madonna can provide the child many opportunities she may be denied in Malawi, but this brings up so many issues…first off, I have a problem with celebs adopting children who have extended family alive…from the reports I’ve read about David’s visit with his biological father- David didn’t even know who he was…he’s already completely disconnected from his African roots and family…so I never buy these claims that adopted children will know their roots…all David knows is living in a mansion surrounded by full-time nannies and all the toys he wants…he has no clue he’s African or what Malawi is (this is probably a vacation for the little guy anyway)…same for other adopted celeb kids…

secondly, celebs are allowed to cut the red tape (even though they always deny this) and their lifestyles are exempted from judgment…if we had been divorced 2x and traveled as often as celebs do, we’d be denied in a hot minute…and this applies not only to Madonna but also to Angelina or any other celeb who adopts…

thirdly, I can only imagine how this looks to some African people who see this as nothing more than another rich white person buying a black baby the same as they would a toy or a piece of candy…

And lastly, while this little girl will have better opportunities, I am sure that all Madonna’s kids know are nannies and other employees who do everything for them…just because Madonna has money does not automatically qualify her for adoption…look at the lifestyle she leads…she’s self-indulgent and based on her relationship with Jesus, she’s irresponsible (who brings your boytoy around your kids so soon after the divorce from their father?)…

Overall, she disgusts me and I find little authenthicity in her adoption claims…P.S. love the expensive clothes she’s worn while in Malawi…she looks just like a white colonist exploring the African continent…

Wow! I’m sure the judge had the child’s best interest in mind.

Good, I’m glad Madonna was denied that adoption. I mean, the girl has a grandmother over there, she has relatives, she’s not an orphan!!

I agree with what Chelsea Handler said. I can’t quote the saying, but I can reference it… Why do you have to go to other foreign countries and take those kids away from what they know? She has family members there, why would you just go there and take her away from everything she’s used to and bring her to some foreign country? If you want to help them, give them money and let them stay with their loved ones!!!!

Why must an African remain culturally attached to Africa. Do you really believe that this little girl, upon learning at adulthood, that she was deprived of the opportunity of regular meals, a fantastic education, and a “leg up” will be resentful towards the Malawi system or Madonna? I rather doubt it would be resentment towards Madonna.

Here’s a clue. What is the immigration rate to Africa from Americans of any color, but particurlarly African Americans. And second what is the migratory rate from Africa to America. There are about one million African nationals here. Compared to less than thousands of American blacks backmigrating into Africa.

This is how I see it: It is now time for Madonna to “put up or shut up” so to speak. The adoption bid was denied because Malawi has what are called “residency laws”- a petitioner must reside in Malawi for a period of 18-24 months before an adoption bid will even be considered (she got around this the first time with David, and presumably thought she would again- wrong!). If her motives are true, selfless, caring and loving and she with her full heart going in believes in what she is doing and wants the best for this child, then she will abide by Malawi’s “LAWS” and set up camp there for the 18-24 mo. residency period. Let’s all wait with baited breathe to see what exactly Ms. Madegsty does… Anyone want to make a wager?

wow, lot’s of nice opinions… I believe that Madonna is a great mother, she’s changed after being a mom… And anything is better than having no money… Sometimes gorverments make it hard for people to adopt children… Here where I live, people enter big lines, while there a bunch of kids needing help… Why don’t you let the kid have a family and more oppotunities? Come on!!

BTW… Please post the new pictures of Anna (Kournikova) and Enrique (Iglesias) at the Sony Erricson Open… they look so sweet….

A twit who flits from man to man, including one young enough to be her own child, is hardly a good candidate for adopting a child. A child needs a stable home with a loving set – yes, a SET – of parents, who will be there for the child.

Madonna could provide that, yes, but it’s clear she would not. I can’t understand why anyone would think this was an awful decision.

Madonna is so screwed up and self-centered that she’s got no business with ANY children around.

I’m thinking you’re probably a Tween making the statement that ‘ANYTHING is better than having no money’. Having money doesn’t take the place of being loved and having a stable family life.

I’m not saying that the decision is right or wrong, but it’s probably a good guess that we don’t know ALL there is to know about this adoption. The fact is given the snap shot views we have of Madonna, WE do not know what kind of mother she is; good or bad.

Whether this is the end of this particular adoption , we’ll just have to wait and see.

As someone in the long process of adopting from Ethiopia I’m glad this was shut down. Money shouldn’t give you a free pass. My husband and I have had to go through all the scrutiny and waiting why shouldn’t she? Malawi does have advantages though for her… She must have been around 47 when she adopted David, and no other country would allow a woman that old to adopt a child 2 or under. There are age laws. Are they fair? Maybe, maybe not. But in most countries they exist. So if she wanted to bypass the age restrictions to have a young child, then this is what she ends up with. She wouldn’t qualify anywhere I know of at the age of 50 to adopt a 4 year old. I believe (could be wrong) generally there can be no more than 40 years between parent and child.

i AM SO GLAD THEY TURNED THIS SELFISH BROAD DOWN, LET HER GO TO DETROIT HER HOMETOWN AND ADOPT SOME OF THOSE UNDER-PRIVILEDGE KIDS, I BET TEN TO ONE SHE WONT STAY IN MALAWI 18 MTHS, SHE DOESNT HAVE THE BALLS FOR THAT! WHO THE HELL BUT A FOOL THINKS MONEY IS BETTER THAN THE CHILDS TRADITION AND CULTURE AND AFRICA HAS STRONG CULTURE BELIEFS , SO I THINK IT WAS THE RIGHT DECISION AFTER ALL THE CHILD HAS LIVING RELATIVES,AND ITS A DAMN SHAME DAVID ASKED HIS FATHER ….. WHO ARE YOU/ THATS A DAMN SHAME!! SELFISH BITC8… STAY OUT OF AFRICA!

Thumb up Thumb down 0

so those of you applauding madonna being denied this adoption then are completely ok with a three year old living in a filthy orphanage in a country of about 1 million orphans, a girl who will have no chance of an education, health care and regular meals right? most likely she will be violated before the age of 18, probably die of AIDS and never learn to read. right, as long as it is not YOUR kid, you don’t care. poor mercy, she could have had a great life no matter what you think of madonna. now she has to rot in an orphanage like the other 1 million orphans in the country. nice going court system. child’s best interest, huh?

Oh this is just a stumbling block for Madonna. Once they find out who they need to payoff, she’ll get what she wants. Madonna seems to be the type of person you don’t say “no” to.

Of course, she can always abide by the rules Malawi and live there for 2 years. She can travel to the US anytime she wants and spend time with the child prior to the finalization of the adoption. That’s if she really wants the child and want to abide by their rules of adoption.

Thumb up Thumb down 0

it will be interesting to see how she reacts with someone actually saying NO to her. What a concept!
The thing that gave me serious doubts is her letting the nanny go immediately after she resigned with no adjustment period for David.
Read ‘The Nanny’ or see the movie. That is exactly what power hungry mothers do… ‘my way or the highway.’
These children of celebrities are nothing more than accessories for them.
Now that ‘accessory’ Lourdes is looking more like competition every day, Madonna want baby boyfriends and little babies around her.

Thumb up Thumb down 0

well we all know moneytalks in this fuc*ed up azz Country, but you the child may have the same thing happen to her living with madonna , you dont know that! And she has family .. idiots how the hell do you know she will be raped… dont effing believe everything you read! She is better off in her own Country than around these racist azz, noose hanging, incest, alcoholis azz white folks!!
