Jonathan Rhys Meyers takes care of some shopping at Fred Segal on Melrose Avenue in West Hollywood on Thursday (May 28).
The 31-year-old Tudors actor recently shared with the Daily Mail what the secret to acting success might be.
“You don’t have to be the best looking person; you don’t even have to be the most talented, you just have to be interesting,” Jonathan said. “That’s what it comes down to, you’re either interesting or you’re not. But you also need luck. If Al Pacino was starting out in the industry today, do you think he’d be successful as he is? I don’t. In the 1970s, when he made his name, he was able to play characters that allowed him to shine.”

I agree, except about Al Pacino, who knows. People aren’t so big on talent anymore, which is what Pacino stared his career on.

one thing is for sure, al pacino starting out was better looking than JRM starting out.
Also Al pacino had/has an air of mystery about him and doesn’t talk about other actors so that make him more interesting.

JRM is incredibly talented. Sure he’s good looking, but when you see his work, you see the character and not him. THAT’S what I like.

He wasn’t putting him down…if you read the whole interview it’s clear he was just referring to how things have changed.
I’m glad he’s not a big celebrity though…that makes him more appealing to me. That he’s not gonna go and ***** himself out.

I love this guy. He’s fantastic in The Tudors but I want to see him in some new roles. I can’t get enough.
This guy makes my skin crawl. His acting is uncomfortable to watch. Al Pacino (or most anybody) is more interesting than this clown on any given day. He couldn’t lick Al Pacino’s boots. Sucker.
