Christina Aguilera has opened up about her divorce from Jordan Bratman in a new interview.
The 29-year-old Burlesque star told People, “Things were so unhealthy and unhappy for both Jordan and me, I knew I had to end it….I really didn’t want to hurt Jordan, and I felt torn about splitting our family up.”
“When you’re unhappy in your marriage, your children are the ones who suffer,” Christina, whose parents split when she was 7, added. “That’s the last thing I wanted for my son [Max].”

Unless there’s actually credible evidence that she cheated on Jordan during their marriage, I don’t see anything wrong with what she said. I think too often, people (especially women) are told by society that they have to stay in a marriage for the sake of the children. But if it truly is an unhappy marriage, then there is really nothing left to salvage and it’s better to be divorced and happy than married and miserable.
True, maybe she moved on too soon. But no one really knows how long the marriage had been crumbling from the inside.
Why in the world to celebs think they need to come out with the details of their private lives? Then when it’s not convenient for them, they try to pull the privacy card. I don’t really have an opinion on Christina, so it’s not a personal attack on her, I just don’t understand why celebs feel the need to air their dirty laundry. I had to laugh when I read the headlines yesterday about Neve Campbell SECRETLY! filing for divorce, as if it was something she needed to have run by the public first. Maybe more celebs should follow that example.

Xtina couldn’t you wait a couple months ??? I think she should show some respect for Jordan, they were together for 8 years after all. Immediately being in a “relationship” and making it very public could be pretty hurtful to the father of her child… I can’t believe she said Jordan changed the 1st diaper, really nice of you Xtina !!! I doubt she even tried to save her mariage, she wanted out and took the easy way out by filing for divorce. She started filming a year ago, she most definitely cheated on Jordan because why would she just jump into a relationship with this guy after she filed for divorce ? this is so suspicious….

Wow!! There so much negativity here that it is laughable. Its easy to speculate that Christina cheated because she’s the celebrity but how do we know that’s the case? For all we know Jordan could have been the one who cheated or they both cheated on each other or nobody cheated.
That being said, I do agree that Christina should’ve at least waited a couple of months to open up about her marriage or better yet not say anything at all.
Now that she’s screwed Jordan both front and back next she will dump him as her manager because she’s such a “Class Act”. *****
What I can’t stand is how she’s throwing him under the bus when she knew good and well no one man was ever going to be enough for her. She is the type that needs validation from many men, that, and probably the variety of ***** lmao!
I do not like Christina at all. She is just trying to make the press feel sorry for her. I always got the feeling she married her husband because he was in the music business and I felt she was trying to advance her career. Notice they split up after her album bombed. Right after she anounces her divorce, she is out running around with a new guy that she met while making a movie…a movie she made while still with her husband. Yet, her husband has said nothing and just takes care of her son. She is a piece of work.
MaryF, not sure why you’re going off on her not changing her sons first diaper. I didn’t change my son’s first diaper either after I had him through C-section. You can’t assume to know what was going on it someone else’s life.
That said, sometimes the best thing to do is keep your mouth shut, and not pull a Hillary Swank divulging your former partners secrets.
Whether she cheated on him or not, that’s their business. I just really hate that she is being so public about it. She is not showing any respect for her ex-husband nor her child. Then they complain the paparazzi are invasive. @svetlana: I agree with you.
