Anna Paquin: Sookie Should Find A Nice, Normal Boy

Anna Paquin heads out after making a visit to a salon on Wednesday (March 9) in Los Angeles.

The 28-year-old True Blood actress made a quick phone call as she headed back to her car.

At PaleyFest over the weekend, Anna was asked whether she thinks her character, Sookie, will end up with a vampire or a werewolf.

“None of them!” she laughed, saying she hopes Sookie finds a “nice, normal boy who’s not a superhero.”

I wonder how many times Alex and her have done it backstage…

  • http://Ua Sligo lambert ^____^ cute

Where im? Yeah anna call police today have problem

  • @ BigJohnson

Try NONE. Anna has better taste than that. She chose a charming, mature man whose not ashamed to be seen with her publicly yet respects boundaries regarding the paps.

Anna also doesn’t strike me as someone who’d happily spend an entire “relationship” surrounded by a Swedish drinking posse and she likes food. Even though she has a banging body, Alex would probably consider her to fat. He likes the balding, non-toned, skin and bones look.

  • Emily

    She’s adorable.

  • Emily

lol, that thought has occasionally crossed my mind too. It is Hollywood after all and I wouldn’t be surprised if something like that ever happened.

  • Liz

Um, Anna is very happy with her husband, the gorgeous & witty Stephen Moyer, thank you very much!
You only have to see the two of them together, cuteness all around! :)

  • cherie

I see some people don’t have a grip on reality.

  • Umm

    @Liz: @Liz:

lol Stephen Moyer fans take everything so seriously. I’m pretty sure that first comment was meant as a joke.

  • JAL

    Anna is a class act!

  • Liz

@Umm: As a fan of Anna, Stephen and Alex, I was offended. It was not a joke, just a stupid remark.

  • caught in action

I knew this! She’s calling paps to take her pictures. Who’s the famew*** now !!!! pmsl

  • Yar

Yeah because Sookie the fairy is so normal.

  • javi

normal boy? on that show the only thing normal is sookies brother and he’s banging everything from normal ho’s to shapeshifters and the other option for sookie would be that big wolfman that allways protecther and yeah sookie it’s a fairy now so why she needs a normal boy she could bang anything with wings.

  • Courtney

Um people True Blood didn’t make Anna Paquin a star she won the best supporting actress oscar at age 11 in 1994 okay she’s the second youngest ever to win a competetive oscar the youngest being Tatum O’neal for Paper Moon 20 years earlier. granted Tatum & her dad Ryan werent the first choices for the roles of Moses Pray & Addie Loggins Paul & Nell Newman were but they droped out of the production when the director changed from John Houson to Peter Bogdonovitch whom Paul didn’t get along with

  • Cassandra

At least once i hope. If she can marry Stephen “women love being raped” Moyer than surely sex with Alex is not completely out of the question? Am i the only one who has read that interview? Disgusting!

  • eva

she is as homely and plain as they come, not a cute girl at all.

  • Cherie

@ Cassandra: So you think it’s ok for Anna to step out of her relationship to have a fling? Or that it’s ok for Alex to take up with someone who is taken? You hope they did? Talk about a total lack of respect on your part.

  • Cassandra

You take things way too seriosly. It is called a joke. Anywho…..if she did it would be nobdy’s business and i would not give a care.

  • sunbears1

    @Umm: ikr

  • Liz

@Cassandra: He NEVER said that! He was asked about the scene in the cemetery, when Sookie does it with Bill right there and then, and how it was hard for men to know what to do with girls, because some would like it fast or slow basically. He NEVER said girls like to be raped! Don’t spread things like that, God!

  • AldridgeWildeBecca

she’s so cool ..amazing actress and seems so nice!….that’s all I’m gonna say ….there’s no point in remarking stupid things.

  • Cassandra

Re-read the interview because he did say that. I do not know if he meant it that way but he said. I am not the only person to say this and a few media outlets reported on it. He never came out and say that was not what he meant. It is not my imagination. Sorry.

  • boston61

She is a gay woman who wants to be straight. That’s why she insisted on the Bi label.

  • Becky

Love Anna. Love Anna and Stephen. They come across as a great couple and appear very happy together.

Cassandra: if you are going to put something in quotation marks, you should quote the person EXACTLY. Stephen was referencing rough vampire sex. Did he use the word rape? Yes he did. But he never said ‘women love being raped’. To quote him as saying that is inaccurate and putting your own personal spin on it.

  • Tracey

Cassandra – you give fandom a bad name. You just want to spread poison around just to justify your love for the Viking. I see your sort all over the net. I bet you love that site – “Anna and Alex” which is REALLY SICK.

  • Leif

    Exact quote from NYLON

“It’s one thing to be polite and gentle. But when do you know it’s OK to crawl out of the mud and rape her as Bill does in one scene?… It’s difficult stuff for a bloke, but a vampire gets away with it…. I think that’s the attraction of the show – it’s looking back at a romantic time when men were men, but they were still charming.”

You really took much pleasure out of posting that, didn’t you Leif??? What do you have? A resume of all things Bill/SM????

Deary me – this is an article on Anna getting her hair done and look what it has turned out to be. Rabidicity. Who wants it!

  • Bill’s Elizabeth

Gee, all this for an article on Anna going to the hairdresser! Wow! It appears there is some jealousy with Anna marrying Stephen. It seems some people want the fantasy to be reality and have her with Alex. This is very sad.

  • Tracey

Here is the link, Leif. As you will notice, that part about Bil raping was in brackets, so it could have been put there by the editor. There is also a post by CB and it clarifies what SM was trying to say and just about all the comments knew what SM was on a bout. Obviously you did not as you are a SM/Bill hater and lurk everywhere on posts trying to find crap on this man because of your hatred. You and your kind only want a Eric and Sookie story and your passion for this storyline has escaped fiction and traversed into reality.

    Grow Up.

  • Tracey
  • HouseMD

    STFU Tracey

You fan girls are so bitchy.

Is it not better to have someone post a quote than all the hearsay that was said before it?

I checked it out. Ya he said it. The brackets simply refer to Stephen Moyer speaking in the second person – as in BILL.
[ as Bill does in one scene]
SO? He was obviously talking about his character and not his own personal opinion. But I guess you would have to get gobsmacked to get it.
If you cant handle what’s said publicly – then take your ball and go home. Stephen Moyer has no problem shooting his mouth off and frankly he is so overrated.

  • sunbears1

i have read other coments that stephan moyer makes.
did you hear what he said at the palley fest thing????
he said bill did rape lorena.
    he (bill)gets off on that.
    so glad sookie dumped him.
i hope she gets with the werewolf Alceed.

  • Leanne

It is simply not healthy to be that wrapped up in a celebrity’s personal life. Seek help.

  • lela

Anna and Stephen are such a beautiful couple. it is really sad to see an article about her going to the salon turn in to a rediculous and vicious rant by Eric fans. You do give your fandom a very bad name. But what is new. Alex S should be ashamed.

Stephen is a true Brit and has a habit of using swear words often in his conversation. It was mentioned once by an interviewer that when said, it is cute. And sorry but I do not remember which interview it was.

I believe Stephen uses the word rape as a general term for rough sex. The definition of rape is ” The act of sexual intercourse that is FORCED upon a person”
In the graveyard scene, Bill did nothing untill Sookie grabbed him first, she instigated the sex. And she looked pretty happy afterward.
And in regards to Lorena, anyone with half a brain could understand that situation. LOL, so what does that say?
Bashers jump on whatever they can to make the character of Bill look bad, because they know that Bill and Sookie are the real deal.

So on to Anna, she looks great. Cute and in love.

  • Liz

@Leanne: Right. And that is why you are & comment on a site about celebrities’ lives.

  • DariusMcCready

    Hey lela

Spare us your armchair diagnosis of rape k?
There are literally dozens of meanings that rape can entail. Not all rape is “forced”

    Defend them all.
The misogynistic views from the Bill camp comes as no suprise to anyone.

I can just hear the Bill fans calling Sookie a skank as soon as she dares to have a desires other than Bill. lol so typical and predictable.

Bill doesnt need any help looking bad. He’s got that in the bag.

    Anna looks cute ;)

  • CarleyFarrell

It’s clear that SM was referring to his character ONLY.
And that he does perceive that graveyard scene to be rape.
It’s his opinion. It’s not out of context, it’s his actual quote.

Instigating sex [sookie] in what some would call a fearful situation can also be a survival tactic.
Forcible seduction;( I will have sex to stop you from killing/hurting me)

AB purposely adds ambiguity to these scenes to let the viewer decide. Sometimes you have to dig a little deeper and sometimes it smacks you right in the face.

The term “Rape” would not be inconsistent with the Bill character, both from the books, and now the show.

  • Jillian

Looking good Anna. So glad you and Stephen are so happy.

Hey D mc, who is calling Sookie names? Your attempt to quote intelligently only makes you look silly. You post assumptions and false accusations, that is what is typical and sad. If anything, the misogynistic veiws were started long ago and not by Bill fans. So take your couch terms and the pot calling the kettle and stow it.

Personally, I say bring it all on in Season 4!

Actually I have read at several Bill centric sites
(Wiki, Nest,TB, HBO) where posters, the majority Bill fans, call Sookie all kinds of names, especially sk**k and a wh**re.

I really have to agree with that, about the name calling, even though I am a SM/Bill fan. I have read it from many BillsBabes. So I hate to say it but it is not speculation and assumption.

It’s perfectly acceptable to fantasize or follow your feelings if your a female without the stigmatism of being loose and easy. It’s often a double standard. But I can understand the fans being upset that Sookie isn’t with Bill. Often times they blame her for what has come to pass, hence the name calling.

I love Anna and Stephen, they are a great couple and so in love.
Hopefully Bill can redeem himself this season on True Blood.

  • WBZ77

    Great post Carley.
    agree 100%. Very well said.

I too, have seen the Sookie character called derogatory names.
Numerous times in fact. Who does Jillian think she is kidding here?Just read Blue Wiki. Hello – public site, and Sookie bashing galore.

  • CarleyFarrell

    Thank you, WBZ77

Clearly this article is not just about Anna getting her hair done.
It’s directly related to the Sookie character (as quoted) and the show.

I think some SM fans have a hard time separating fiction from reality.

  • belle

Bashing and name calling, towards anyone is wrong on all counts.
But yet if you are naming sites, the red wiki, which seems to have stared it all, has consistantly directed this type of childish behavior not only to the characters, but the actors as well and since the beginning.

Fan bases need to all wake up and grow up. Remember how this sad discussion all started here. An eric fan.

  • CarleyFarrell

Finger pointing and he said – she said, is probably the first step in eliminating childish behavior, belle. *shrugs*

I don’t really care who said what to whom.

However I did find SM’s words in that article to be an interesting take on his character. I had to go to the source and read the whole thing, plus more that he said on the subject at ‘Huffington Post.’ It’s worthy of a read for those who have not read his interview there.

Bill’s storyline will be new and fresh this season, and I really like not knowing what is in store for him( as opposed to going to Peru)

I find the Bill character to be interesting. I am looking forward to seeing him sans Sookie.

  • Patricia

@belle: @Belle. If by “red wiki” you are referring to the original True Blood Wiki, that comment is a straight up lie. Not only are all fans welcome there, but any sort of behaviour of the type you described is actively discouraged and anyone who participates in that type of bashing and name calling is told to desist. If they persist, they are banned from the site. Can the Wikid Women site say the same? Not from what I’ve seen. You are entitled to your opinion, but please stop spreading lies.
