Kings of Leon Cancel US Tour

Kings of Leon has pulled the plug on their U.S. tour.

“We are so sorry to say Kings of Leon are canceling their entire US tour due to Caleb Followill suffering from vocal issues and exhaustion,” a rep for the band told “The band is devastated, but in order to give their fans the shows they deserve, they need to take this break.”

“Unfortunately, the US dates cannot be rescheduled due to the band’s international tour schedule. Tickets will be refunded at point of purchase. Tickets purchased online or via phones will be automatically refunded. The band will resume touring in Canada at the Rogers Center in Vancouver, BC, on September 28th. That show was originally schedule for September 14th,” the rep concluded.

“Utterly depressed. It’s completely out of my hands. Family has to come 1st. If bass solos & backing vocals were more popular, I’d be there,” bassist Jared Followill wrote on his Twitter account.

“Thanks to all my friends, family, & fans. I’m not going to stop working. I’m going to spend time writing songs and looking to the future,” Jared added.

What I don’t get is this since when is vomiting a side effect of vocal problems or just exhaustion. And only lead singer has issues? Humm maybe more to this. Are they cancelling world dates too? If not I’d be a very upset US fan.

  • simona

I hope that whatever is caleb´s problem, he gets well as soon as posible and all the boys get through this….it really hurts me to see them struggle

  • Deedz

Vocal issues and exhaustion? Why lie? Especially if it’s already been established that its /not/ those things.

  • Kate

You left out these quotes from Jared:

“I know you guys aren’t stupid. I can’t lie. There are problems in our band bigger than not drinking enough Gatorade.”
“There are internal sicknesses & problems that have needed to be addressed.”

I hope everything is okay with them. It almost sounds like they need to take a break from each other.

  • me

    Caleb-what’s going on with you!?
kings of leon-please get over it,we love you so much,we need your music in the world!!
Hope one day they’ll visit in Israel too..

  • Cheery

So presumably Caleb will enter rehab of some kind? Hope he gets the help he needs.
Still love the band, and fans will understand him taking care of his health and then going on to perform great shows once he’s well.

  • mimi

i used to love them until they became so overplayed i could no longer stand to hear caleb’s voice/their songs

it didnt help they had their heads stuck so far up as*sholes

  • Lisa

@u2philly62: Shut the f*ck up you idiot! Obviously Caleb is not feeling well and there are some issues that need to be dealt with, have some understanding instead of whining like a baby.
They will tour again when they are ready and don’t worry about fans, they have a lot of them worldwide, some even mature and understanding unlike you.

  • kà simply amazing

no hate or love. but boring

  • Vanessa

Sounds like they need a break especially since Caleb just got married this year. Hope they don’t break up.

  • Mllllllef

I just hope that Caleb is OK.
He has one of the most wonderful voice I heard in my life.
I adore each single of the lyrics he wrote.

Caleb, I support you, f@ck off, the tour, it’s your health first.

Good luck with you, ahem, “vocal issues”, Caleb. Seriously, get this guy to rehab, pronto. Vomiting and rambling about marrying the “prettiest little girl” doesn’t not equal vocal issues. Jarod’s right, we’re not stupid.

  • Really

HIPSTERCRITE! So full of themselves… first the bird dropping now a little heat. PR company pulling overtime!

  • Mllllllef

@Really: This is how we recognize an idiot.
The one who is only able to bird story, while the men are releasing 5 albums full of masterpieces, going 10 times aorung the world and living a life.

At least you have a bird story, happy you.

  • Really

I hope you’re charging them a lot for your PR service. They can afford it.

  • Nathalie

get well, Caleb. ur true fans will always support you no matter what, <3

  • Wil

Sounds like they’re no longer ON FIRE

  • Louise

They have issues alright (demonic in nature I would say). The first excuse was heat exhaustion. Oh, poor baby. These artists who complain about fatigue, heat, riding the bus, etc. should come back to the real world. Work the highways like the cement men do in ninety degree heat; then they would know heat and exhaustion. We, the fans, deserve a two hour concert from the lead performer. Two hours of performing is not going to do an artist in. We pay big money for concerts and anything under two hours is unacceptable. Artists do not work 12 months a year; they have mucho time off. But they are great complainers. When performers cancel concerts they are putting hardships on the fans. Money has gone out for lodging, travel, food, tickets, etc. It is understandable if someone falls sick or has family emergencies, but showing up drunk to perform and then leave the stage and cancel the tour. Unexcusable. I was a big fan of “The Kings”, but no more —— a group of losers.
