AnnaSophia Robb as Young Carrie Bradshaw - First Look!

AnnaSophia Robb gets into character on the set of her new show, The Carrie Diaries, on Wednesday (March 21) in New York City.

The 18-year-old actress plays a young Carrie Bradshaw, a character Sarah Jessica Parker made famous in HBO’s smash hit Sex and the City.

“I know everyone’s going to compare [The Carrie Diaries] to Sex and the City, but we’re never going to be that,” AnnaSophia told Us Weekly. “The show is more for my generation, but it’s set in the ’80s, so it’s fun.”

SJP, who sent AnnaSophia a letter, “was just very encouraging about it all. It was really cool!”
