Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger are engaged, her rep confirms to JustJared.com.
The 27-year-old singer and the 37-year-old Nickelback frontman have been dating for about six months after co-writing a song for Avril‘s upcoming fifth studio album.

According to People, Chad proposed with a 14-carat diamond engagement ring on Wednesday (August 8).
This will be the first marriage for Chad and the second for Avril, who split from Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley in 2009.
