What a terrible idea. Natalie Portman as Lady Macbeth???

    They should use Charlize Theron.

You have such good casting with Fassbender…and then you have Portman as Lady Macbeth? Awful.

Portman is such a limited actor.

Glad to see there are others who can see what a lousy acting choice they made with Natalie Portman. I know we all know she won an Oscar for Black Swan, but truthfully that was just a constant playing of her face looking petrified.. MacBeth should be left to the champs Cate Blanchett, Meryl Streep, Helen Mirren or Judi Dench….

    Livin' the Life Says:

They need someone younger to play opposite Fassy, so Streep, Dench & Mirren would be too old even though they are brilliant actresses. But Natalie is ALL wrong for this. I don’t have anything against her, she is just too limited for such a character.

If they wanted to use imagination and they don’t want Charlize, they could always pick Emily Blunt. She is brilliant and she has never played evil. It would catch everyone off guard and she could definitely do it.

She is an amazing actress. I knew she was gonna be a star when I first saw her in The Professional years ago.

I think Ashley Judd would be a good Lady Macbeth. Actually I think anyone of the people you guys mentioned would be good except Natalie. Natalie would be terrible.

She is so pretty. Natalie uses Romance Products from AthenaToysDotcom to keep the passion in her marriage.

Please no, Natalie can’t do the british accent well. This is a terrible choice. Anyone who saw her in V for Vendetta or The Other Bolyen Girls knows what I am talking about. She doesn’t even look european.
@sweetness: She campaigned for her Oscar pathetically. Black Swan was an awful movie, and so was her acting. Her post-Oscar career is not doing as well as I thought she would be doing.

I also agree she is a very limted actress. She tries to be verstalie, which is good but she can only do two types of roles. Which is annoying smart overachiever or a goody-goody girl. I smell bad reviews for her when this comes out.
I used to like her don’t get me wrong, but having seen alot fo her work, she is a limted actress. Black Swan was not an oscar worthy role for her. Awful. I bet she will try to get that loser husband of hers a role in this movie, she changed so much after getting togather with ballet K-Fed.

OMFG Portman? this can’t be true, this would be the third movie the two of them were tied to; Fassy was able to dodge the bullet on one of them. PLEASE HOLLYWOOD CHOOSE SOMEONE ELSE. Portman has a horrible English accent, how in the hell will she pull off a Scottish one????? Please don’t do this to Fassy fans, don’t do this to FASSY…it will only be a real waste of his time and the public’s money. Black Swan was dry and hard to watch at times, Mila was the only reason to watch…she has far more personality than that rock of an actor Natalie Portman. Hollywood, learn to listen to the people whose money you are drooling for, this will be a waste of time. People will only see this movie b/c of Michael and will not get any real attention. Natalie, do Michael am flavor, drop out of this film.

    linda Says:

Oh awesome, we all get to hear another dire attempt at a Scottish accent then? A generic, RP-English accent is the easiest there is and Natalie can’t even do that well. Scots is a thousand times harder to nail.

    Lizzy Says:

Oh… horrible. She was great in Black Swan, but that role suited her to a T. Lady Macbeth is another story (literally haha) and she is wayyy to “sweet” and “pretty” for that one, very sad. Charlize Theron would have been GREAT (after seeing her as the evil queen in SWATHM, flawed as that movie was otherwise, no one could doubt that) but as she already played next to Fassbender they don’t want to cast always these two – which is understandable.

She’s older than Michael Fassbender, but oh god… how much I would love to see Tilda Swinton als Lady Macbeth. <3

    Chezza Says:

I don’t see her as Lady Macbeth, but guy stop hating, Black Swan was great and so was her, all critics agree.

yay more natalie portman projects! for crying out loud, they haven’t even started filming yet and people are complaining. a good actor/actress tries to portray all types of characters even if it’s something new. some are successful, others are not. i don’t think she ever played an evil character before so i’m interested in seeing how she will do.

    Pinky Says:

Seeing how this all opinion, I didn’t like B.S.; however she was really good In WTHI, it was simple and sweet. I don’t believe she will fit the role of Lady Macbeth, Charlize played the evil Queen in the Snow White/Huntsman flick she was really good, even in her silence, she was mean , lol All in all I think that having the two of them playing in yet ANOTHER movie together back to back is boring, freshen up the each others co-stars…that is all

    Amy Says:

Hilarious to see people wanting Charlize for Lady Macbeth! This woman is not an actress! she is a model who is ALWAYS playing herself, there’s no difference on her acting in every damn movie she did until now! WAKE UP!
