The only Indian actresses or people for that matter who make it big usually have Afghani and Persian ancestry. White skin is prized above all others in Indian society, India is the skin whitening capital of the world. Parents arrange marriages for their children based on the whitest of the bride and grooms complexion.

  • Ohh La La

@SARA: Why do Indians type like that online? Why not use proper spelling and grammar? It isn’t cute.

  • lola

The baby is cute and she’s already skinny. There are real muslim beauties out there. Not just the super rich and ugly women we see in western big cities.

  • kayet

@Sanjay: @Mindy: Why do you bring this up on every Aish post?
Skin bleaching is everywhere, not just India. Its qyite stupid to say something like that. Kareena, karishma kappor, Hirtik Roshan, are all lighter then Aishwarya and have real green or light eyes like her.
Bollywood has many ‘dark’ ladies who are beautiful and top stars. Priyanka Chorpa, Deepkia Padoune, Bipasha Basu, Chitendra Singh, Rani Mukerji, Kajol, etc. They are all loved and worsshipped by indian men. whats your point?
And you must be living in some obscure part of the world if you think the Bollywood stars look ‘persian’ or ‘arab’ .

  • Altrixi

in Nice, France -not in Paris. France is a country, wich capital is Paris, and Nice is a town in the country of France. Just tellin’…

  • anjali kushwaha

    adorable baby, cute aradhya

  • AJ

Huh? Aishwarya has no Persian or Afghani ancestry. She is from the South. Both parents are Indian and plenty of Indian people have light skin, without having Persian and Afghani blood. (Most Persian people I know have darker skin than Aishwarya).

Colourism and racism are issues world over, not just in India.

  • Akhil

The Buddah left Indian and the Hindu faith because he couldn’t deal with the horrific racial hate of Indians against Indians based on skin tone. Bangladesh broke away from India and converted to Islam to escape the strict segregated racial hate prevalent throughout Indian society. Millions Of Indians immigrant each year to live better lives beyond the rigid caste and color system of Indian.

Long term use of skin whiteners can lead to pigmentation increasing to the joints of the fingers, toes, buttocks and ears. The skin of the face can become thinned and the area around the eyes can have increased pigmentation causing a ‘bleach panda effect’.`^^.
