NBC Cancels Hillary Clinton Mini-Series Starring Diane Lane

NBC has canceled the highly anticipated mini-series following the life of Hillary Clinton that was to star Diane Lane as the politician.

“After reviewing and prioritizing our slate of movie/mini-series development, we’ve decided that we will no longer continue developing the Hillary Clinton mini-series,” the network announced (via Deadline).

The news comes just hours after CNN announced they have scrapped plans to produce a documentary about Hillary.

The Republican National Committee has placed a lot of pressure on the networks to cancel their projects as they felt it was unfair publicity for Hillary in the upcoming presidential election, even though she hasn’t officially said she will run yet. According to some reports, the Clinton camp also was not in favor of the films.
