Margot Robbie Was Devastated When She Had to Go Blonde

Margot Robbie wears a patterned mini dress while leaving her hotel on Thursday (March 6) in Paris, France.

The 23-year-old The Wolf of Wall Street actress recently chatted with Elle about changing her hair color from blonde to brunette.

“Well I had to dye it brown for the role I just finished shooting in New Zealand and then on wrap I asked if we could just get the red out of it since I had to go to the Oscars. And we left it in for a little long and it went really dark. But it’s great though, I love it. It’s really fun,” Margot added.

When asked if it was the first time she’s gone dark, she said “No, I had it this color all through high school actually. I always dyed it dark in high school. I was devastated when I had to go blonde.”

FYI: Margot is wearing a Fay coat.

she looks so much cute blonde!

  • maria

she looks best blonde..i cant recognise her with the black hair..doesnt suit her and washes her out..

  • Amy

Actually I think the blonde hair ages her. She looks younger as a brunette.

  • dingus

Looks far better as a blonde.

  • Erin

@Amy: Margot looks aged either way…she has a very mature face. She’s pretty, but looks in her mid to late 30s. I think she looked a little more refreshed with the blonde even though I typically prefer brunette hair. She just looked old and severe at the Oscars. If she had the blonde hair, it wouldn’t have been as intense.

  • Gorgeous

She seems really down to earth but yes she’s virtually unrecog’ble as a brunette. Still this is the way to go if she doesn’t want to be typecast as the hot blonde.
Her facial structure makes her look older in photos but on cam she looks all right, not that old.

  • Isabel

I think she pulls off both looks well which is rare.

  • alaia

@Erin: Mid to late 30s? For Christ sake, people are so dramatic.

  • Alex

@alaia: Yeah, Robbie is dramatic…if she’s so “devastated” to change hair color, she’s is the wrong profession.

  • painthouse

She’s ugly anyway but with the blonde hair she stands out a bit more.

  • Vee

@alaia: Oh please…she DOES look alot older than 23…it’s not being “dramatic.”

  • hjdschscdzb

    She’s in her 30s, i hate liars.

  • EYES

Yuk, her features look weird, even after her nose job. she looks like a bimbo. she won’t last. she’s too ignorant and ambitious to have real success. and she’s not 23. she was born in the 80s by the way.

  • another one bites the dust

shes lies alot you can tell by the nonsensical things she says. can barely tell her apart from any normal girl in these pics…. can’t wait for her to really spout out something stupid so she can be gone for good. why did she even bother showing up to the oscars? im guessing she had a 3rd balcony seat.

  • Kelly

All of you making negative comments come across as jealous imbeciles. For Christ sakes she’s an attractive woman, let it go. The real problem is not with Margot Robbie. It’s you,

  • Road

@Kelly: people don’t like other people for a reason. who would be envious of a woman obviously interested in fame? she’s a phony and a hypocrite. people like real actors who are not interested in showing off; She doesn’t have the talent other hollywood actresses have. She’s a poseur.

  • Kayle

@painthouse: No need to be jealous
