Lana Del Rey Says Feminism Isn't Interesting in 'Fader'!

Lana Del Rey is cute and casual in skinny jeans while arriving at celebrity hotspot Chateau Marmont on Sunday (June 8) in West Hollywood, Calif.

The day before, the 27-year-old singer was spotted sitting in the back seat of a chauffeured car after grabbing some grub at Craig’s Restaurant.

“For me, the issue of feminism is just not an interesting concept,” Lana recently shared in Fader‘s June/July 2014 issue. “I’m more interested in, you know, SpaceX and Tesla, what’s going to happen with our intergalactic possibilities. Whenever people bring up feminism, I’m like, god. I’m just not really that interested.”

In case you missed it, have a listen to Lana‘s new song “Brooklyn Baby“!

    She has a point. She certainly has become more interesting to me. As she mentioned two things I find interesting.

    “Oh god. I’m just not really that interested.”

    Sure girl, sure thing. I mean who wants to talk about serious stuff like how women are treated in the society when all you want to do is to talk about how good your new album is and how you are a special little flower.

    @jon m’shulla: you’re such a hipster. fool.

    troll Says:

    Glad someone famous came out with it! Feminism is just an excuse to hate men for what they done, instead of moving on fron the hurt. It’s like slavery and racism, people just bring up reasons to complain about something instead of uniting as one and stopping the destruction of our planet.

    JD Says:

    so many women these days are openingly declaring themselves not feminists because they dont want to anger the c/o/c/k – keep doing it ladies ;) we dont mind

    Awoman Says:

    @JD:

    Nah, feminism is just boring, like why focus on hate when you can focus on love. It’s all about love and feminism is hateful to women and men.

    Somebody please tell this lady to have a talk with Aaron Johnson so he can finally get out from under Sam Taylor-Woods spell!

    Jamie Says:

    It seems no one, as even the comments here would suggest, has an actual understanding of what feminism is. Sad that so many uninformed people, famous and not famous, continue to perpetuate myths about feminism…like the one that says feminism is about hating men, which is untrue. Pathetic.

    stella Says:

    FEMINISM: THE BELIEF THAT MEN AND WOMEN SHOULD HAVE EQUAL RIGHTS AND OPPORTUNITIES. HOW BORING IS THAT, RIGHT???

  12. 12
    Yoy Says:

    @Jamie:

    That’s always the answer feminist give when feminism is criticized “no one understands what feminism is”. Okay then smartypants wtf is feminism and why doesn’t any one understand it?

    person Says:

    Feminism is quite hateful, there is no denying that. You can’t even speak against it without getting called all kinds of names like; ignorant, stupid, airhead, uninformed, pathetic. You have to blindly agree with feminism or else you get attacked. What if people don’t understand what the hell feminism is ? are you less of a human being because you don’t support something you can’t comprehend? Perhaps feminist should be more clear on what exactly feminism is instead of immediately attacking those who don’t get it.

    pick up a dictionary, you devolved mess.

  15. 15
    caseyjones Says:

    @person:

    the one exact meaning of feminism is believing in equal rights between men and women. the people in this comments section are retarded. I’m envisioning a fleet of McDonalds employees on their break checking out celebrity news. Why do I feel like that guess isn’t far from reality?

  16. 16
    Iseelosers Says:

    @dd: You don’t even know how to properly use the internet and you’re calling someone else a “devolved mess” lol
    and you’re hanging out in a celebrity gossip site trying to act superior.
    You can’t be smart and care about celebrities, trust me lmao

  17. 17
    lis Says:

    @caseyjones: You just proved these McDonalds employees point. Feminism isn’t about equal rights at all! It’s about having the authority to take over what men have, for what to prove you can be as successful as they are while degrading them also? You and all those other commenters defending the “meaning” of it sound more uneducated and naive to this world. I have socialized with feminists and from my experience and other commenters here, it’s nothing but hate. They hated men for doing them wrong, they wanted to make them feel like they were less than them because a man made them feel that way. They hated women because some women like the men to be in control. Then they got upset when they heard a man being the housewife because he was considered to be a freeloader. So you tell me what you’re opinion is? We don’t want the definition we want an actual opinion. Don’t forget the definition of ******: Someone with a mental disability. I feel fine i don’t work at McDonalds of course and i can type and operate a computer just fine.

    deb Says:

    um how is feminism hate. both men and women are mad when people misconstrue the word feminism. all feminism means is equality between women and men. that is literally it. it has absolutely nothing to do with hate. I gotta ask though…where is all the hate on this board coming from?

  19. 19
    creole Says:

    When feminists attack! RAWR! I agree with Lana it is boring and lots of feminists are damaged goods they’re either lesbis or they bully their hubbys around. Most feminists degrade themselves anyway it’s pretty funny. I mean they’re arguing about women being degraded when they want to go off and show their t i t s because men are allowed to it’s complete garbage. Let the stones be casted at me now.

    dude everybodys getting so mad about this. a lot of these commenters are trolls. chilllllllllll

    @Iseelosers:

    you know you’re confirming you are not smart because you too care about celebrities, right? not smart indeed it turns out.

  24. 24
    Liz Says:

    Most people are feminists whether they know it or not. If you believe in equality between the genders you are a feminist. It’s not about hate against men. Has the word been tainted? Absolutely. I think the world could benefit from a new neutral word.

  25. 25
    sylviah Says:

    @jenniferB: Haha! Funny. I was just scrolling down about to comment when i saw yours. I guess i have to be a guy to agree on not agreeing with feminism. *sigh* Perfect example of a double standard.
