Love is not abuse. Mental or emotional manipulation isn’t either. Exploitation of virgin girls is wrong. Control and love don’t fit in the same sentence let alone caring emotionally naked relationships. 50 Shades is none of this.

Christian Grey was a child abuse victim, whose mother was a whore and drug addict. He was emotionally neglected so turned into a uptight man in payback mode as soon as he turned into and adult. And it takes more than love to ‘cure’ his conditions. Feeding this fantasy is irresponsible. The author was irresponsible. Those who panned the book were from the psychiatric community (for a reason) because this book utter crap created for the Twilight saga crowd. But pimping it on Valentine’s Day is appalling IMHO.

Yes, I read the first one. One was enough. AND it took me 3 months to get through it. Between shutting down my Kindle and wincing or laughing out loud, I don’t know what bothered me the most. Oh, wait, yes I do. Love is not abuse.
