Michael Brown's Parents Speak Out After Officer Darren Wilson's Interview, Call His Account 'Disrespectful'

Michael Brown‘s parents, Lesley McSpadden and Michael Brown Sr., appeared on the Today show this morning after Officer Darren Wilson made his case last night and defended his actions after shooting their son over the summer.

Michael Sr. called Darren Wilson’s account “crazy” and “disrespectful,” and added, “For one, my son, he respected law enforcement. Two, who in their right mind would rush or charge at a police officer that has his gun drawn?”

The family attorney, who joined his parents at the interview, said, “When you have people of color be killed, they try to demonize and play the stereotypes, and they try to put the police officer who killed our children on a pedestal. It’s just not right and we have to fix this system.”

Michael‘s parents have called for peaceful protest after the grand jury made the decision not to indict the officer in the shooting of their son on August 9.
