John Mayer's Photoshopped Instagram Pic Gets Fans Buzzing

John Mayer has sparked a lot of buzz on social media over a photo he posted to Instagram late Sunday night (December 28).

The photo features the 37-year-old singer and his friend Ricky Van Veen, and it appears to have gone through many filters before hitting the social media site.

“So good to see my friend Ricky again. It’s been a while,” John captioned the pic.

Many fans believe that this is John‘s personal commentary on celebs that have been called out for photoshopping their Instagram pics.

FYI: Ricky, the co-founder of College Humor, is engaged to Girls and Peter Pan Live star Allison Williams.

They look like IMVU avatars. Creepy. Not a good look for a human, avatar? Not bad.

They look like Madame Tassaud statues. John Mayer is always calling out the important stuff, the issues that will resolve world hunger, war, and all the big problems in the world.

I think I can possibly explain this photo. The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 has a built-in feature called Beauty Face, and it’s defaulted on anytime the phone’s front facing camera is used. You have to manually turn it off. It is very bizarre and annoying, but it detects faces and smoothes the skin automatically EXACTLY like this photo. It’s creepy and definitely not beautiful, but it’s not intentional if you forget to turn the feature off every time. It would be interesting to know if John Mayer has a Galaxy Note, because I hate this feature, as well.
