Joni was placed in intensive care, where she remained late Tuesday afternoon, and the situation looks serious, according to TMZ.

“…and the situation looks serious, according to TMZ.”

Does she live alone? Who found her? She was conscious in the ambulance so she came to, which has to be a good sign. “Serious” could mean a number of things. I do hope they keep us informed. Her music is a window to all women’s souls, no matter what age, no matter what class, no matter what background. She sang from her soul and wrote from her heart.

Like many fans of hers from way back, I never gave her due credit for her Jazz turn (ironic because that’s what I usually listen to). But if you can pretend she never was the great singer/poet of yesteryear and listen to her with fresh ears you can see why in the jazz world she is greatly respected as one of theirs. One more note; Song For A Seagull; listen to the album on Youtube and then read the comments….

Hey thanks. I’ll do that and check out that song and read comments.

I don’t know “Jazz” but think she liked challenging herself both lyrically and musically. She’s most talented.

I heard she paints. And a lot of her paintings are of herself? (rumor)

She’s supposed to have some movie to come out with Taylor Swift (eye roll) to play her? Maybe she just can’t get over it? Maybe it’s an internal thing with anger/insult/offense? LOL Hey, we never know.

I thought her jazz stuff was the best! “Help Me” had some of the best jazz musicians in the 70′s playing with her.

I’m afraid I’m a “Court & Spark” type of fan, “Blue” but have a lot of her works, thereafter that liking what I heard. One of my favorite CDs is “The Hissing of Summer Lawns” which was a departure for her as well.

I hope we get some good news she’s doing alright.

“Court & Spark” Is my favorite Joni album (yep I say album because I have it on vinyl) “The Hissing of Summer Lawns” is a close 2nd! (Another vinyl I own of hers!) I don’t own a l lot of Joni just the last two I mentioned and “Dog Eat Dog”. I own “Hits” and “Misses” as CD and just various tracks on iTunes.
