Gorgeous, sexy handsome. Lovin’ that geeky, nerdy look, and the glasses and cheap ill-fitting suit helps with that.

Now he’s Mr Average! Brad Pitt wears shaggy hair and glasses in dad-next-door makeover to star in next film The Big Short
    ================================================
He been named People’s Sexiest Man Alive in 1995 and 2000, but Brad Pitt transformed into an ordinary dad-next-door on the set of The Big Short on Friday.

The 51-year-old actor did not look his usual sharp dressing self as he got in character for the financial drama in New Orleans.

He appeared to age quite a bit as he sported shaggy hair, a thick salt and pepper beard, and prescription eyeglasses.
Brad also donned a comfortable blue, red, and grey sweater over a button-up shirt paired with loose-fitted khaki slacks as he strode along in tan loafers.

Angelina Jolie’s husband was accompanied by another actor as they walked their dogs and engaged in conversation.
That day, Brad was pictured on set without the sweater, as he hopping out of a red mini-van and peered at his notes while sipping on a canned beverage.

The father-of-six is playing Ben Hockett, who along with his Cornwall Capital partners Jamie Mai and Charlie Ledley, made millions from predicting the collapse of the US housing market, which led to the financial crisis from 2007 to 2010.

Cornwall Capital is a private financial investment company that was first started by Mai and Ledley out of a friend’s backyard shed in 2002, according to The Wall Street Journal. Hockett is described as Mai and Ledley’s neighbor who got sick of his office job.

‘His concern about apocalyptic scenarios helped lead them to some esoteric, long-shot bets against the housing market–which ended up paying out big time,’ the WSJ writes.

In The Big Short, Brad is joined by Christian Bale, Ryan Gosling, and Steve Carell as some of the men who made millions from predicting the collapse of the housing market.
It is a film adaptation of Michael Lewis’ book, The Big Short: Inside The Doomsday Machine, about the build-up of the housing and credit bubble, which led to the financial crisis from 2007 to 2010.

The movie is being produced by Brad and directed by Adam McKay, who is known for comedies such as Anchorman and Talladega Nights.

Meanwhile, Brad is back to work after supporting wife Angelina, 39, through recent preventive surgery. Angelina revealed last month in The New York Times that she had her ovaries and fallopian tubes removed in hopes of reducing her risk of cancer. The Oscar-winning actress wrote that she underwent the surgery after a recent blood test showed a possible early sign of cancer.

Angelina said she immediately called Brad after learning the blood test results and he flew home from France within hours to be with her. Angelina and Brad are parents to Maddox, 12, Pax, 11, Zahara, 10, Shiloh, eight, and six-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne. It was recently rumoured that they would be adopting a child from Syria, though other reports have denied this claim.

‘Lewis and Clark’ in Alberta: HBO looking to fill roles with First Nations men, women and children
    ====================================================
HBO producers are looking for some First Nations Canadians to help tell a great American tale.

The miniseries Lewis and Clark is holding a casting call April 19 at the Grey Eagle Resort Hotel from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

First Nations men and women 18 to 80 years old and youngsters aged eight to 16 are being sought for the show, which tells the tale of the American explorers who charted the northwest U.S. in the early 1800s.

It’ll be filmed in southern Alberta, between June and September.

The production is then scheduled to move across the Rockies into B.C. some time in December.

Brad Pitt, Tom Hanks and Edward Norton are co-producing the show, which will star Casey Affleck and Matthias Schoenaerts as Meriwether Lewis and William Clark respectively.

Casting director Alyson Lockwood said they’re looking to fill both non-speaking roles and ones that include dialogue. Bonus points for those who speak their native tongue.

“People can come out dressed in a western or traditional flavour as well,” Lockwood told the Sun.

Those auditioning on April 19 will be asked to fill out an application form and will be required to pose for a photo.

Like I wrote to well – In this case, apparently JP pictures are worth thousands. That’s where all their money goes; thus they can only afford remedial writers.

  • toastie postie

Here. Here! Silence is golden – does that apply to writing also? Like the phrase: A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words

  • well

Yes, very- Lewis is excellent at explaining complicated issues* & seems to like to use an outlier’s POV as a way into his work (Beane in Moneyball, Burry et al. for BTS). I read Unbroken, too, but I hope I didn’t let it slip about that WW or those Berlin Olympics :)- spoilers!

    * I’ve also read other Michael Lewis book, inc. Liars Poker, Moneyball & Blindside.

  • Phool

JPFamily , you are going to make Dumb Ring Runt cry with that, they already are in pain seeing her drunk and hitting on CAA agents for work in full view of everyone at the restaurant..

Britain ready for a tipple from Château Pitt and Jolie
    ========================================
Forget swanky cars and expensive watches, wine has become the new big bucks celebrity game.

It takes a small fortune to plant a vineyard, so most celebrity wines merely have the star’s name on the bottle in exchange for a hefty fee. The few that are made from vines grown on an estate they actually own are rare.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have, however, taken the plunge, and so far to a favourable response. Now the fruits of their labour are to appear in a British supermarket for the first time.

The couple have released a limited edition 2014

  • SALT

Is that his wedding band he has in his left hand?

  • Phool

Yes it does appear the same, as his is a chunky one.

  • well

Yes- I noticed that, too…Finn’s bio says 5′ 11″, so yes, Brad’s taller. He was SO THIN for most of Unbroken- they all were- it is hard to think of them as being big at all…it was such a stark contrast to how they looked during the press tour.

  • SALT

ok.His character is married then, or they blur it on pos-production. sorry I confess I don’t understand nothing about filmaking.

  • Phool

I think the character would be married considering his age group. The Ring stay’s lol.

  • well

I think it was Twain or Lincoln that said something like…it is better to remain silent and be thought a fool rather than open your mouth and remove all doubt!

  • toastie postie

Thanks! Now do I read it before or after the movie – that is the question – I ask the styrofoam weave…uh…wig head of JA’s – Yech! just crumbled apart in my hands – was freakingly made of cake, not styrofoam! Double yech! – oh well *whistling, while discreetly kicking it into a deep hole, holding some old movie reels and dozens of flaky wigs*

  • SALT

ok lol. thanks. You know It`s just an excuse to talk about the ring because the Hens become crazy when they see that ring lol

  • well

Having read the book :), I know the answer, but will only reveal it if Phool says ok!

  • toastie postie

Very wise advice. Too bad I have a motor mouth. Sigh.

  • toastie postie

    :0)

  • Phool

You mean Brad’s and Angie’s Wedding Ring. You mean the Ring that Runts thought Brad will never put on Angie’s finger, is it that Ring you are talking about?
Hang on time to close the windows’ hear screaming from the ocean or should I say screaming from Sunset Towers.

  • SALT

    yes. that one.

  • Phool

You are intent on spoiling the spoilers aren’t you well.

  • Phool
  • Media Wh@re MANiston

    What a handsome man.

  • SALT

its nice. Runts must be like Gollum. Precious.

  • SALT

agree. Just imagine him naked lol.

I confess I am liking the look of this movie.

  • well

I think it would be beneficial to read it before- you can get an education on the econ climate (it’s good you’ve been watching Lewis’ interviews, too) and why it was so HORRIBLE as to what happened in the subprime mortgage market (it will also make you look at what has or hasn’t happened since in a new way- like Lewis talks about in his interviews)…no offense to Phool, but I don’t consider it a story/film wrecking spoiler to read since the subject matter was a well-known part of history, like Unbroken or Moneyball. IMO, reading the book can no more wreck what we’ll see when the BTS film comes out than seeing the Sleeping Beauty cartoon before Maleficent. Everybody’s different though… here is a VF article Lewis wrote before BTS was released…gives you a flavor of the book, etc. http://www.vanityfair.com/news/2010/04/wall-street-excerpt-201004
