Cecil The Lion's Death Sparks Outrage Among Celebs
Cecil the Lion‘s killing has outraged people around the world and tons of celebs are speaking out to show their disgust at alleged killer, Walter J. Palmer.
The Minnesota dentist reportedly paid $55,000 to kill the iconic lion in Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe. Cecil was lured out of the park and shot to death.
The lion was known to guests who visited the park and enjoyed human contact.
“In early July, I was in Zimbabwe on a bow hunting trip for big game. I hired several professional guides and they secured all proper permits. To my knowledge, everything about this trip was legal and properly handled and conducted,” Palmer said in a statement. “I had no idea that the lion I took was a known, local favorite, was collared and part of a study until the end of the hunt. I relied on the expertise of my local professional guides to ensure a legal hunt.”
