Amber Heard's Lawyers Retract Statement Made After Johnny Depp Divorce Settlement

Amber Heard‘s lawyers, Samantha F. Spector and Joseph P. Koenig, have retracted an earlier statement made after the settlement agreement between their client and Johnny Depp.

After the divorce case was settled, the lawyers said that Amber had been “vindicated in the Public Court of Opinion.”

They later updated with a new statement.

“The statement made today on behalf of myself and Joseph Koenig was made without the knowledge or approval of Amber Heard. The statement is untrue and we retract it, without qualification. My assertion that Amber Heard has been vindicated in the court of public opinion is not true. We regret the error and apologize to Johnny Depp,” the lawyers told ABC News.

They wrote the statement and now they retract it? What a mess lol Maybe she got angry when they said that she will be donating the money to charity xD
Oh, and the public opinion agrees… SHE’S HORRIBLE! And a desperate gold digger.

  • Lo Mo

that must be some effin tight “u dont fuking talk about johnny in public anything anymore”-agreement reached/paid by Johnny’s lawyers

  • cutitout

Gag order. They got their point across tho, retraction or not!

  • Cruizin1960

Seems to me that Depp is controlling every aspect of this settlement. The fact that they were forced to retract the statement AND apologize to Depp says alot. Wonder if Depp had proof that Amber was lying and trying to extort money from him. After all, she received less than the original offer — and it is not even a drop in the bucket to what he is worth. Think she was trying to smear his name to try to get more than the half that she was entitled to. Based on the movies they did while married, I don’t think she even came close to half.

I am confused on something with the statement. There saying in the statement saying both party’s aren’t lying. So people are saying she won but doesn’t that also means johnny wasn’t being violent. Can you help me clarify what there saying. I don’t care if I sound like a idiot I am just trying to understand the odd stament

    you sound reasonable

  • Just Saying

Now I’m 100 percent sure that Depp has proof that Amber was lying and/or extorting him, there is no way she was going to take 7 million and apologize just like that…

  • Sharis

The statement says that no one lied for FINANCIAL GAIN not that no one lied.

  • puritypersimmon

The fact that they place the court of public opinion above an actual court of law says it all really. Staggeringly unprofessional.

  • Amy

The statement was written by her lawyers and approved by Deep’s lawyers.
She had many witnesses who contradicted her claims, including the police. She would have lost in a trial, with no doubt.
And I agree with you, she made the domestic abuse claims thinking that he would pay her more, but it turned out to be the opposite. She lost several million for being ambitious.

  • Amy

But it also says that she lied, because it says that “there was never an intent of physical or emotional harm”.

  • felineguardian

Why didn’t it state that “there was no physical or emotional harm”? They used the phrase “no intent” to say he was physically and emotionally abusive, but he didn’t intend to.”

Or her whole team was a shit-show from day one.

I’m glad for everyone’s sake that it’s over.
