Emily Blunt Calls 'Mary Poppins' Her 'Dream' Role
Emily Blunt sports an all-black ensemble as she arrives for her appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Thursday (October 6) in New York City.
After the show, the 33-year-old The Girl on the Train actress made her exit while rocking a bold red skirt and matching lipstick.
The Girl on the Train hits theaters tomorrow, and Emily will start rehearsals for her her next on-screen role – the title character in Mary Poppins Returns – next month!
Emily recently opened up about how much the role means to her.
“I’m learning the songs,” she told E! News. “We did an incredible workshop of the script a few weeks back. It’s so heart-racing, so exciting. It’s a complete different re-imagining of the whole thing. And I’m scared and thrilled to be in it and it’s cool.”
“It is my dream,” Emily added. “I mean, she’s such an iconic, nostalgic figure for people. So it’s a gift to give to my kids that I get to be this generation’s Mary Poppins.”
FYI: Emily is wearing a black ALC top, an Aritzia skirt, and Christian Louboutin shoes. She is wearing a Valentino top and skirt with Jimmy Choo shoes for the other outfit.
