Larry Nassar Sentenced to Up to 175 Years in Prison for Sexual Abuse Case

Larry Nassar, who was accused of sexual misconduct by over 150 women, has been sentenced to 40 to 175 years in prison for his sex crimes, the New York Times reports.

150 brave women came to court in Lansing, Michigan to read statements about the abuse they suffered. Nassar was the USA Gymnastics doctor for years before he was charged.

Among the women who came forward was Olympian Aly Raisman, who spoke in court in a powerful testimony.

“I just signed your death warrant,” Judge Rosemarie Aquilina said when she handed down her sentencing. “You do not deserve to walk outside of a prison ever again.”

The judge also added that it was an “honor” and “privilege” to sentence Nassar.

Nassar was also previously sentenced to 60 years in prison for child pornography.
