Spain's King Felipe & Queen Letizia Choose Not To Wear Masks For A Bit During Canary Island Visit
King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain go without masks as they make a visit to the Canary Islands on Tuesday (June 23).
The royal couple stopped by the Pérez Galdós House-Museum, before touring the capital of Gran Canaria. Their visit coincided with the usual commemoration of the Foundation (1478) of the Very Noble and Very Loyal Royal City of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria
Felipe and Letizia chose to not wear masks at the start of their tour, but did put them on as they walked through the city and greeted some royal fans with elbow bumps instead of handshakes, as they did before
Their visit coincides with the new tourism campaign, which hopes to bring world travelers back to Spain this summer.
Earlier over the weekend, Felipe and Letizia were seen with their daughters, Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofia, as they headed to the Teatros del Cana for a contemporary flamenco performance.
Just last month, the Spanish Royal Family attended a service to remember the victims of coronavirus in the country.
