Netflix Seems to Be Cracking Down on Password Sharing with New Test Feature

If you currently use someone else’s Netflix password, you’re not going to like this news.

Some users are experiencing a pop up while accessing their friends/family member’s accounts.

A message apparently reads, “If you don’t live with the owner of this account, you need your own account to keep watching.”

When that message pops up, the user either has the option of verifying their identity with a text or email to the account’s owner, or, an option of verifying later with a limited amount of time before the message will appear again.

Netflix confirmed the new feature, which is being rolled out in limited capacity at this time. A Netflix spokesperson told Just Jared, “This test is designed to help ensure that people using Netflix accounts are authorized to do so.”

There is a little bit of news Netflix users can celebrate this year!
