Prince Harry Sparks Massive Debate Online, Trends on Twitter Over First Amendment Comments
There are currently thousands of tweets about Prince Harry on Twitter right now and you may be wondering why.
It all stems from a quote the royal said while making an appearance on the “Armchair Expert” podcast, talking about the “feeding frenzy” that arose when he and Meghan Markle first moved to California.
“I’ve got so much I want to say about the First Amendment as I sort of understand it, but it is bonkers,” Prince Harry said. “I don’t want to start going down the First Amendment route because that’s a huge subject and one which I don’t understand because I’ve only been here a short time.”
“But, you can find a loophole in anything. You can capitalize or exploit what’s not said rather than uphold what is said,” he added.

If you don’t know, the First Amendment states: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”
Many are criticizing Prince Harry for his views, while so many others are coming to his defense. Read some of the tweets…
Cherry-picking & misrepresenting what Prince Harry said about the US First Amendment is trending.
Read the actual quote – what he finds "bonkers" is how easy it is to find a loophole and get around it. But @FoxNews who use the amendment as an excuse for their lies, is offended?— Kevin James Bennett (@KJBennettBeauty) May 17, 2021
Half the people moaning about Prince Harry and his comments about the First Amendment are US and UK racist twats who keep trying (incorrectly) to use it as cover for the bile they spew. The other half are British who are gleeful something bad may come his way. Both are pathetic.

I think, Prince Harry, that the reason the First Amendment matters is that if the government can censor people at will, they can silence suffering under their rule or policy. That's called tyranny.

Prince Harry could dig himself in deeper after calling the First Amendment “bonkers” by clarifying that he was only referring to freedom of the press.

Did Prince Harry say that he didn’t understand the First Amendment or did he criticize people scapegoating the First Amendment to use as a loophole to harass people via the media? Because I’m pretty sure that is what he said.🤔

I like Prince Harry, but saying the First Amendment is "bonkers" is asinine.

Now everyone is condemning Prince Harry because he said the first amendment is “bonkers”? And THIS is why he said it. Christ. Taking it totally out of context. He was talking about how he doesn’t fully understand it as an amendment, due to all the ways there are loopholes & shit

For Prince Harry to condemn the USA's First Amendment shows he has lost the plot. Soon he will not be wanted on either side of the pond.

Prince Harry: I don’t want to comment on the first amendment, I’m still new here and I don’t really understand it all
