Ellen Page & Paris Berelc to Star in Video Game Movie '1UP,' Directed by Kyle Newman

Ellen Page and Paris Berelc are set to star in the upcoming movie 1UP, which will be the first feature film from BuzzFeed Studios.

Kyle Newman is directing the underdog comedy, which is set in the world of gaming.

THR reports that the “story centers on a female gamer named Vivian Lee (Berelc) who quits her college eSports team rather than put up with sexism from her male counterparts. But with her scholarship on the line, she is forced to assemble a Varsity-caliber, all-women’s team that can compete with the boys. With the help of an enigmatic coach (Page) who returns to the spotlight after her own GamerGate scandal, the young woman recruits an unlikely crew of unskilled misfits to kick some serious gamer butt.”

Production on the movie will begin in November in Toronto.

Paris is best known for her work on the Disney XD series Lab Rats: Elite Force and the Netflix series Alexa & Katie. You can currently catch her in the new Adam Sandler movie on Netflix, Hubie Halloween.

Kyle previously directed the movies Fanboys and Barely Lethal.

Jodie Turner-Smith Set To Play King Henry VIII's Second Wife Anne Boleyn In New Series

Jodie Turner-Smith Set To Play King Henry VIII's Second Wife Anne Boleyn In New Series

Jodie Turner-Smith will be putting on a crown for her next role as Anne Boleyn.

Deadline is reporting that the 34-year-old Queen & Slim star will walk in the shoes of King Henry VIII‘s second wife, who became mom to the future Queen Elizabeth I.

The three-part drama series, set to air on Channel 5, will center on Anne in the final months of her life.

The show will also focus on Anne’s struggle with Tudor England’s patriarchal society, her desire to secure a future for her daughter, and the brutal reality of her failure to provide Henry with a male heir.

Anne was Queen of England for only three years, before she was executed for treason and other charges by beheading.

After the news broke, fans on social media either really loved, or really hated the fact that Jodie would be playing Anne, who was white.

“I wonder if people who are up in arms about Jodie Turner-Smith being cast as Anne Boleyn feel the same way about Christ constantly being portrayed as a white man?,” one fan wrote.

Another added, “To everyone freaking out about the prospect of a black actor playing Anne Boleyn, just a gentle reminder that first BAME woman to play Anne was back in 1933 – by Merle Oberon who was of Indian/ Polynesian descent – and like Jodie Turner-Smith undoubtedly will, she totally rocked.”

Those who opposed were equally as vocal.

“Anne Boleyn was white. A white person would not be picked to play a well known historical black person, it would be classed as white washing. The same applies the other way around in my opinion,” one Twitter user pointed out.

“Erm… Anne Boleyn was white… What would happen if a white person played Martin Luther King in a film? What happened? In a country with 86% of the population being the same colour of the ex-queen, you couldn’t find one good enough to play the part? Thinking faceFace with monocle,” another said.

Bradley Cooper Has an Important Message for Voters in His Home State, Pennsylvania

Bradley Cooper is speaking out in his second voting PSA during election season and this time he’s sending an important message to fans in his home state of Pennsylvania.

A recent Supreme Court ruling leaves open the possibility that the Court might return to the question of whether PA can accept absentee ballots received after election day, so Bradley wants fans to get their ballots in ASAP.

“Hello, I’m Bradley Cooper, and I’m very proud to be from Pennsylvania. I was born in Abington – I grew up in Montgomery County. And I care a lot about PA, and that’s why I need to share this extremely important message with you PA voters. Make sure to deliver your ballot in person before 8pm on November 3. There is a strong chance that that ballot, if it’s delivered after 8pm, will not be counted on the 3rd,” he said.

Bradley continued, “There’s so much riding on this election. Human decency is riding on this election. So go to IWillVote.com/PA and make sure you get your ballot in before 8pm on November 3. Thank you.”

Earlier this month, Bradley broke down the dos and the don’ts for Pennsylvania voters.

Grimes Has a New Stage Name & It's Just One Letter Long

Grimes, whose real name is Claire Boucher, says she is going by a new stage name now… and it’s just one letter long.

The 32-year-old singer was profiled in The New York Times this week and the article mentioned that she now goes by “c” – a reference to the speed of light.

During the interview, she also opened up about her five-month-old son X Æ A-12 Musk, who simply goes by the nickname X.

Grimes, or shall we say c, talked about the “radical art” she is showing her son and how her baby boy is helping her produce her new music.

Over the summer, Grimes responded to one of her partner Elon Musk‘s tweets and told him to turn off his phone after something he wrote.

Brie Larson is showing off her cute and custom “Vote” bag!

The 31-year-old Captain Marvel star used her voice in the upcoming Presidential Election and shared her story of how she waiting in line to cast it, as many ballots that are mailed right now are getting lost.

“Voting can be a precarious experience. Turns out some vote by mail ballots don’t show up to your home, like in my case this year!” Brie shared on her Twitter with her fans. After her ballot didn’t show, she took matters into her own hands.

“So, what did I do? I put on my mask, placed my voter guide in my handy dandy VOTE purse and drove my ass down to my local polling location to request a ballot and VOTED,” she continued. “It may not be as easy as we want it to be, but even a complicated journey to having your vote counted is a journey worth embarking on.

Brie added a final note to fans, along with a close up on that cute purse.

“Vote in person if you haven’t yet voted, or drop your mail in ballot at your local ballot box (don’t mail it now as it may not get there on time to be counted!). Your voice matters. Your vote is valid. And I am wishing you all the strength in fighting any battles on your vote 2020 journey!”

Sacha Baron Cohen Donates $100,000 to 'Borat 2' Babysitter's Community in Oklahoma

Sacha Baron Cohen Donates $100,000 to 'Borat 2' Babysitter's Community in Oklahoma

Sacha Baron Cohen has made a large donation to the Oklahoma City community of Jeanise Jones, the woman who was Tutar’s babysitter in the new movie Borat 2.

A GoFundMe page was launched for Jones by her pastor after her story went viral. She actually thought the whole situation was real until the movie was released and believed she was participating in a documentary about child brides at the time.

Over $155,000 has been raised for Jones and now the additional $100,000 donation will be distributed to her community by Pastor Derrick Scobey.

“I was blown away but not surprised because I was told about what type of heart this man has,” Scobey told People of the donation. “Maybe it’s a little risqué, some of the things in the movie, but he has a good heart.”

Jones has been busy this week helping people in the community affected by a big storm.

“While all these people around the world are loving how she’s the moral compass of the movie, she’s sitting here serving people in the dark and in the cold,” Scobey said. “This is who we are. This is what we do for our community, and we love our community.”

Paris Jackson Gets Her Heart Pulled Out In Haunting 'Let Down' Music Video

Paris Jackson struggles with her demons in the music video for her brand new song, “Let Down”.

The 22-year-old daughter of the late Michael Jackson made her solo music debut after splitting from longtime boyfriend Gabriel Glenn earlier this year. The two had made up the group, The Soundflowers.

“I feel so many emotions,” Paris shared with People magazine about the new song. “I’m excited. I’m nervous [but] mostly grateful and happy.”

She added, “The freedom to create [and] not be told what to sing and how to sing it [or] what to write is awesome. It’s a gift. It’s a blessing.”

In the haunting music video, Paris is seen dancing a classic waltz with a love interest, who turns out to be very toxic for her, and ends up doing something unspeakable.
