Robin Wright Demanded Equal Pay as Kevin Spacey on 'House of Cards'

Robin Wright recalled demanding equal pay to Kevin Spacey for their work on the popular Netflix series House of Cards in a new interview.

“I was looking at the statistics and Claire Underwood’s character was more popular than [Frank's] for a period of time,” Robin said during a Q&A (via Marie Claire). “So I capitalized on it. I was like, ‘You better pay me or I’m going to go public.’ And they did.”

“It was the perfect paradigm…There are very few films or TV shows where the male, the patriarch, and the matriarch are equal. And they are in House of Cards,” Robin added.

There are reports that Kevin was making $500,000 an episode in 2014, while Robin was earning $420,000 per episode.
