All Quiet on the Western Front director Edward Berger is reportedly in negotiations to oversee development and direct a new installment in the franchise for Universal Pictures, via Deadline.

Matt Damon‘s new film Jason Bourne debuted at No. 1 at the box office with a whopping $60 million gross!
According to THR, the fifth film in the action-packed franchise, beat out 2012′s The Bourne Legacy, starring Jeremy Renner, which opened to $38.1 million.
Coming in second was Star Trek Beyond, earning $24 million in its second weekend and passing the $100 million mark.
Taking the No. 3 spot was Bad Moms, starring Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell, and Christina Applegate, which opened to a solid $23.4 million
Rounding out the top five were The Secret Life of Pets and Lights Out, which brought in $18.2 million and $10.8 million, respectively.
Meanwhile, Emma Roberts and Dave Franco‘s new flicl Nerve impressed with a projected $9 million weekend.

Alicia Vikander and Matt Damon continue their European promo tour for Jason Bourne with a screening at the Alhambra movie theater on Thursday (July 14) in Berlin, Germany.
The 27-year-old actress recently shared a behind-the-scenes secret about life on the Jason Bourne set – she was always scared that Matt, 45, was going to prank her!
Although she said the cast made her feel like family, “They love a joke and prank on set. They never got me, I was on edge most the time, but I think Matt‘s going to come for me at some point,” she revealed to the Daily Mail.
Matt, however, decided to let Alicia off the hook, because he was so happy to have her in the film! “The truth is we felt so grateful she did the movie. Every single person in the world is trying to get [Alicia] in their movie right now, she’s the hottest thing in Hollywood, it was huge for us.”

Matt Damon is joined by his leading ladies Alicia Vikander and Julia Stiles at the premiere of their movie Jason Bourne on Monday night (July 11) at the Odeon Leicester Square in London, England.
The stars were joined at the event by their co-star Riz Ahmed as well as Matt‘s wife Luciana.
Earlier in the day, Matt and Alicia were spotted stopping by BBC Radio studios to give some interviews.
