The red carpet is just about to begin for the 2017 MTV Movie & TV Awards live from the Shrine Auditorium on Sunday (May 7) in Los Angeles.

Are you ready to check out some new footage from the highly-anticipated film Spider-Man: Homecoming?!

Stars Zendaya and Tom Holland will be on hand at the 2017 MTV Movie & TV Awards at the Shrine Auditorium to introduce a clip from the movie.

Spider-Man: Homecoming hits theaters on July 7 and follows a young Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Holland), who returns home where he lives with his Aunt May (Marisa Tomei), under the watchful eye of his new mentor Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.).

Peter tries to fall back into his normal daily routine – distracted by thoughts of proving himself to be more than just your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man – but when the Vulture (Michael Keaton) emerges as a new villain, everything that Peter holds most important will be threatened.

Who’s ready for a night of celebrating the best in movie and television of the past year?! The 2017 MTV Movie & TV Awards air this evening and we can’t wait!

There are a ton of amazing presenters and performers expected to hit the stage live at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.

You can expect everyone from Amy Schumer and Zac Efron to Hailee Steinfeld and the cast of 13 Reasons Why to hand out accolades during the show.

As for performers, Big Sean, Noah Cyrus, Pitbull, and Camila Cabello will all hit the stage.

For the first time, categories like Best Kiss, Best Duo, Best Comedic Performance, Best Hero and Best Villain, and more will be blended to include nominees from film, television and streaming series.

New categories include: Show of the Year, Best Host, Best Reality Competition, Tearjerker and Next Generation.

The network has also replaced the former Best Actor and Best Actress categories with non-gendered Best Actor in a Movie and Best Actor in a Show.

Adam DeVine is heading up this year’s 2017 MTV Movie & TV Awards!

MTV just announced that the 33-year-old Workaholics star will be this year’s host at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.

In case you missed the news, this is the first time in 25 years that MTV is including television categories and calling it the “MTV Movie & TV Awards.”

The 2017 MTV Movie & TV Awards will air LIVE on Sunday, May 7 @ 8PM on MTV.

The MTV Movie Awards is getting a makeover to include TV and will now be known as the MTV Movie and TV Awards.

“We’re living in a golden age of content, and great storytelling and characters resonate regardless of whether you’re watching it in a theater or on TV,” Chris McCarthy, president of MTV, said in a statement (via EW). “The new ‘MTV Movie and TV Awards’ will celebrate even more of the brightest, bravest, funniest and most shared films and TV shows resonating across youth culture.”

The show is set to air live from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on May 7. Nominees have not yet been announced. Stay tuned!
