Nick Lachey is revealing if Jessica Simpson reached out before printing her book “Open Book,” which hits stores on Tuesday (February 4).

“Well, no, I have not read a single word,” Nick told Us Weekly. “Both of us [including wife Vanessa Lachey] have not read the book, and no, she did not reach out before it was published.”

Stories about Jessica and Nick‘s marriage, which officially ended in 2006, are published in the book. In the book, Jessica revealed how she told Nick she wanted a divorce. Nick actually has his own version of how this happened, which Jessica disputed.

Jessica Simpson is reflecting on her divorce from Nick Lachey after they were married from 2002 until 2006.

“In 1998, when I was 18, I met Nick Lachey of the group 98 Degrees at a Hollywood event. ‘Hi I’m Nick,’ he said. Hello, my life. I thought,” Jessica wrote in her memoir “Open Book,” via The Blast.

“Nick loved the fact that I was so strong in my faith and that I had this wide-eyed innocent approach to life. When he proposed in 2002, I said yes,” she wrote.

“We had been together almost seven years when I told Nick, ‘I think I want a divorce.’ I later heard that he told the press he was blindsided. I don’t know how. At that point we were not even speaking to each other. Maybe he was just shocked that I stood up for myself. I don’t think he ever thought I would take the leap,” she added.

Jessica also opened up about her relationship with John Mayer and what happened between them.

The 39-year-old Top Chef Junior host is dishing on her Christmas plans with husband Nick Lachey and their three kids – Camden, 7, Brooklyn, 5, and Phoenix, 3.

“[Nick’s brother] Drew [Lachey], [his wife] Lea and their kids are coming in on Christmas,” Vanessa shared with People. “We’re excited to have them here because when we used to live next to each other in [Cincinnati], we always had Christmas together.”

“We always love doing family traditions during the holidays, but I think they become even more special because Phoenix was born on Christmas Eve,” Vanessa continued. “I just love being home with the family. Honestly, it’s go, go, go all year, and it’s really nice that everything shuts down over the holidays.”

Nick Lachey went on a date with Kim Kardashian back in 2006 and now he’s dishing on what happened during the date.

The 45-year-old singer was asked about his time with Kim during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live on Thursday (October 31) in New York City.

“We went and saw The Da Vinci Code together,” Nick said about his date with Kim. The movie was released in theaters in May 2016.

“She left about halfway through and went to the restroom, and then shockingly, there were 25 paparazzi when we left the theater,” he added, implying that she might have called the paparazzi in the middle of the date. “I think there were other things in play on our little rendezvous.”

“[She] couldn’t be a nicer girl, we had a great time,” he said. “But no, we don’t keep in touch anymore, to answer your question.”

The stars were all in attendance for an interview at Build Series on Wednesday (October 30).
