Nikki Blonsky joins SAG President Alan Rosenberg and SAG Award Producer Kathy Connell for a behind-the-scenes look at Sunday’s Screen Actor’s Guild Awards at the Shrine Auditorium on Friday in Los Angeles.
Among the stars presenting trophies: Zac Efron, Kate Beckinsale, Josh Brolin, Steve Carell, Russell Crowe, Eric Dane, Ruby Dee, Tina Fey, Ben Foster, Michael C. Hairspray star Nikki Blonsky is nearly speechless as she accepts the Rising Star Award at the 2008 Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards Gala at the Palm Springs Convention Center on Saturday in Palm Springs, Calif.
She was hoping and preparing for a last-minute resolution that would permit actors to attend the Golden Globes.
“A girl’s gotta cover her back and have a dress, just in case,” she said.
The 19-year-old actress along with the rest of the Hairspray cast picked up the festival’s Ensemble Performance Award. Congrats to everyone!
Into the Wild actor Emile Hirsch also picked up the other Rising Star Award.More Here! »
Nikki Blonsky nabbed a 2007 Golden Globe nomination for her performance in Hairspray. The film itself also was nominated for “Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy”.
Other nominees include: Across the Universe, Charlie Wilson’s War, Juno and Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.
Congrats to Nikki, John Travolta, Michelle Pfeiffer, Christopher Walken, Amanda Bynes and Zac Efron on the nominations. Good luck on January 13th!
