Ansel Elgort traveled to Japan this week for events to celebrate his new HBO Max series Tokyo Vice!
The 28-year-old actor joined his co-star Ken Watanabe for a screening and press conference on Tuesday (April 5) in Tokyo, Japan.
An intimate screening and reception were held in honor of the show at The Peninsula Hotel Tokyo. Also in attendance at the events were cast members Sho Kasamatsu, Hideaki Itô, Tomohisa Yamashita, and Rinko Kikuchi, as well as the inspiration of the series Jake Adelstein, creator/writer JT Rogers, and executive producer Alan Poul.
Tokyo Vice is new series loosely inspired by American journalist Jake Adelstein’s nonfiction, a firsthand account of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police beat. The crime drama, filmed on location in Tokyo, captures Adelstein’s (Elgort) daily descent into the neon-soaked underbelly of Tokyo in the late ‘90s, where nothing and no one is truly what or who they seem.
The first three episodes of Tokyo Vice are now streaming on HBO Max. The series is a co-production with WOWOW, Japan’s leading premium pay TV broadcaster. (日本の皆さん、TOKYO VICEはWOWOWで見てねー)

The new Louis Vuitton campaign is here and it features a star-studded cast of actors, singers, and models on book and film covers.
American Horror Story co-stars Billie Lourd and Cody Fern appear together on the “Secret Spell” cover while Sophie Turner takes the cover of “The Devil’s Mansion.”
More stars featured in the campaign include Emma Roberts, Alicia Vikander, Chloe Moretz, Laura Harrier, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Samara Weaving, Jennifer Connelly, Lea Seydoux, Angelica Ross, Stacy Martin, Kelsey Asbille, Doona Bae, Zhong Chuxi, Yaya, Noemie Merlant, Deepika Padukone, Woodkid, Rinko Kikuchi, Jaden Smith, and Robyn.
The fashion brand is playing with the idea that “fashion is a novel” with the new campaign.
“To illustrate this collection – a term that works just as well with fashion as it does with literature or on the big screen – the House’s muses proudly take to book covers or film posters as protagonists, fitting perfectly into Louis Vuitton’s history and brilliantly embracing the role of adventurer,” the fashion house said in a statement.

The two ladies opted to attend the show instead of this year’s Met Gala. Other stars in attendance included Tilda Swinton and partner Sandro Kopp, Saint Laurent actor Gaspard Ulliel, and Oscar nominee Rinko Kikuchi.

Jenny Slate looks picture perfect on the red carpet at the 2015 Film Independent Spirit Awards held on Saturday afternoon (February 21) at the beach in Santa Monica, Calif.
The 32-year-old Obvious Child star was joined at the show by fellow Best Female Leading Actress nominee Rinko Kikuchi. Also hitting up the show was Berenice Marlohe.
Rinko is up for the award for her work in Kumiko, the Treasure Hunter, while Jenny is up for her work in Obvious Child. Also nominated are Julianne Moore, Tilda Swinton, and Marion Cotillard.

Pacific Rim 2 will be storming into movie theaters everywhere on April 7, 2017!
The original film was a global box office hit and starred Charlie Hunnam, Rinko Kikuchi, Charlie Day, and Ron Perlman.
“The characters I love will return,” director Guillermo del Toro told BuzzFeed in a new statement. “Raleigh (Hunnam), Mako (Kikuchi), Newt (Day), Gottlieb (Burn Gorman) and who knows, maybe even Hannibal Chau (Perlman) – but we are taking them into a fresh territory that will display amazing sights and battles. The first film set the stage and now we’re ready to have a blast.”
It is not clear yet if the original cast will return for the sequel, but it is also unlikely that they would not reprise their roles.
