Ryan Phillippe Won't Return for 'Secrets & Lies' Season 2

Ryan Phillippe has basically confirmed that he will not return for another season of Secrets and Lies if the series gets renewed.

The 40-year-old actor starred on the ABC show and the ratings have been increasing leading up to last night’s season finale.

Before the episode began on Sunday night (May 3), Ryan took to Twitter to answer some fan questions. One person asked if a second season will happen.

“ask abc. My story ends tonight,” Ryan replied.

It was revealed that the person who killed Tom Murphy was Ben Crawford’s (Phillippe) daughter Abby. She had heard her dad arguing with her mom over the affair he had with Tom’s mom Jess Murphy. She decided that if she and Tom ran away that Tom’s dad would come back to Jess and that her own parents would stay together.

While running away, Tom wanted to go back home and Abby wouldn’t let him so she hit him over the head with the flashlight, ultimately killing him.

To make sure his daughter doesn’t go to jail, Ben confesses to the murder. Detective Andrea Cornell (Juliette Lewis) knows that he did not commit the murder and knows it was Abby. She doesn’t have proof though, but she vows to put her in jail.
