Stefanie Scott Is Far From 'Insidious' for Her JJ Portrait Session

Stefanie Scott gives good pose in this exclusive photo as part of her Just Jared Portrait Session.

The 18-year-old actress stars in the new film Insidious: Chapter 3, out in theaters everywhere right now, and she is far from an “insidious” person in real life!

Stefanie stars in the film, a prequel set before the haunting of the Lambert family, as a teenage girl who has been targeted by a dangerous supernatural entity and is helped by the gifted psychic Elise Rainier.

In our exclusive interview with Stefanie, we talked with her about her favorite horror films of the past, how she thinks the demon in Insidious compares to past horror villains, and even which canceled television show she’d want to bring back to star in.

Stefanie Scott Interview – JustJared.com Exclusive

Just Jared: How did you really get started in the business?

Stefanie Scott: Once upon a time, at the tender age of ten, I booked a Papa Johns pizza commercial in Orlando, Florida…that was my first day as a “working actress” and I was so giddy. Then just kept dreamin bigger, I guess.

JJ: Most people remember you from Disney Channel’s A.N.T. Farm. Do you ever miss those days of playing Lexi?

SS: I was younger and it was a different time in my life, but I’m nothing but thankful for it. I’m especially forever grateful for the fans of that show, who have and also now play such an even more important role in my life and career.

JJ: Congrats on Insidious: Chapter 3! What other scary/horror movies did you watch to prepare?

SS: The Shining has to be one of my all time favorite films. It’s dark, twisted and classic, and I love it.

JJ: There’s Freddy, Jason, Chuckie…how do you think the demon in Insidious compares to them?

SS: This demon, The Man Who Cant Breathe, is truly terrifying. I think it’s because he’s more of a mystery, yet extremely violent. And nothing, not even death, can detach it from you.

JJ: You also reunited with Hayley Kiyoko on this movie, who you star with in Jem & The Holograms. How was that?

SS: She’s a good friend of mine! ‘Twas fun. It’s was a really dark film to shoot so it’s nice to have some comic relief on set.

JJ: Speaking of Jem, you’re Kimber and went red! Tell us about your experience on that movie.

SS: I had the most incredible time on this film. The colored hair, face paint, glitter, performances…I got to live my secret rock star dream.

JJ: You have so many projects going on. What are some things you do to relax and have fun?

SS: I love having friends over at my apartment and cooking and laughing. That’s my idea of a perfect night.

JJ: If you could bringing back your favorite cancelled TV show of all time. What is it and who would you play if you were cast?

SS: I don’t know who I’d play, but Breaking Bad would be a dream. Actually just working with Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul would be a dream. I’m a huge fan.

JJ: Another fun question: You’re stuck on a deserted island and can only bring three items and one co-star. Which co-star would you bring and why?

SS: 1: A camera 2: music 3: I worked on a film with Natalie Portman a few years ago, but I played the young version of her so I didn’t get to work in a scene with her. I’d probably say her! Maybe she’d teach me French. Although Juliette Lewis would be pretty fun.

Go see Insidious: Chapter 3, in theaters everywhere right now!
