Rachel McAdams Says She Likes To 'Play Characters That Are Flawed & Interesting'

Rachel McAdams arrives looking very stylish for her appearance on Good Morning America on Thursday (July 23) in New York City.

The 36-year-old actress went on the program to talk about True Detective and her brand new film Southpaw, which is playing in theaters everywhere now!

Rachel recently opened up about the projects she likes to take on.

“With any project I work on�” not just True Detective�” I don’t feel the need just to play a strong woman. I don’t want the audience to say, ‘Oh, she was so strong.’ I want to play characters that are flawed and interesting,” Rachel told TIME. “I don’t really want to repeat myself. For the most part, I always want to be doing something new. But there aren’t a lot of gritty roles out there for women, and they are so fun to play everyone wants them.”
