Rudy Giuliani Rescued a Car Crash Victim in New York City

Former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani came to the rescue of a car crash victim on Thursday morning after witnessing the accident on the FDR Drive.

The 71-year-old politician was on his way home from Newark Airport after a red eye flight with two colleagues. When they saw the overturned car, Rudy told his associate to pull over.

“We called 911. Sal, a former sergeant and EMT . . . approached,” Rudy told Page Six. “Sal told the driver to turn the ignition off and to remove his seat belt.”

Rudy took charge of the situation and started directing traffic around the accident, though his wife got an unfortunate call due to some misinformation. When it was mentioned that the former mayor was at the scene of the accident, his wife Judith was told he was in the crash.

“I always said it was easiest being mayor when things are bad,” Rudy concluded.
