Prince William Discusses the Painful Grief from His Mom's Death
Prince William looks dapper in his tux while attending the Child Bereavement UK 21st Birthday Dinner on Thursday (October 15) in London, England.
The 33-year-old Duke of Cambridge was joined at the event by British presenter Gary Barlow to honor the organization’s work helping families rebuild their lives after the devastation of child bereavement.
Earlier in the day, William was seen stepping out for an official visit to open the School of Pythagoras Archive Centre at St. John’s College in Cambridge.
At the dinner, William gave a speech and opened up about the death of his mother, Princess Diana.
“Twenty-one years ago last month, my mother attended the launch of the Child Bereavement Charity,” William said (via People). “Fifteen years later, I was honored to be invited to become Patron of Child Bereavement UK to continue my mother’s commitment to a charity which is very dear to me. What my mother recognized back then and what I understand now is that grief is the most painful experience that any child or parent can endure.”
