Kate Winslet Stands By Her Gender Pay Gap Conversation 'It's a Bit Vulgar' Comment - Watch Here!

Kate Winslet keeps it chic and sophisticated while attending a special screening of her latest film The Dress Maker held at the May Fair Hotel on Wednesday (November 11) in London, England.

The 40-year-old Oscar winning actress is standing by the comments she made recently about the wage gap conversation in regards to women making less than men.

“I do understand why other people are talking about it. I think it’s very important as an individual who’s in the public eye, if there is something that is meaningful to you and you’re in a position where you can have a voice about that, then why not? It’s certainly not for me to comment about other peoples comments because I’m not them and I don’t know their circumstances,” Kate expressed on 5 News. “But for my own circumstances, and I can only be true to my own experience. I’m doing okay, like it’s all okay. It’s a strange thing, there’s so many rumors about actors pay and there always has been, ‘so and so gets paid this and so and so gets pays that,’ and for years that’s been the case, and now, suddenly the lid is lifted and I find it vulgar to be included in the discussion about this stuff. I don’t want to talk about money publicly, it’s so weird.”
