Taylor Swift Donates $1,989 to Help Fan Break College Charity Record
Taylor Swift does some shopping at Melrose Place on Wednesday (February 24) in West Hollywood, Calif.
The 26-year-old singer recently helped a fan’s attempt to break his college’s charity record with a donation of $1,989 in honor of her album 1989.
Taylor made the donation to Igor Lekontsev, an accounting major who was raising money for HuskyTHON, his college’s annual dance marathon to raise money for the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center.
Igor got the news in a surprise FaceTime call from Taylor herself.
“I literally had no idea about her contacting me until she did it,” Igor told The Daily Campus. “I couldn’t have prepared for this two months ago.”
Thank you for protecting me all these years with your words Taylor. I love you forever ❤️ pic.twitter.com/uA0q8YMhr9
