Mindy Kaling Says Chris Messina Will Still Be on 'Mindy Project'

The 36-year-old actress was joined at the event, presented by Citi / AAdvantage, by her show’s Emmy-nominated costume designer Salvador Perez.

Mindy recently opened up about concerns from fans on Chris Messina not having series regular status any longer on The Mindy Project.

“When people hear that, I think that they sometimes get worried that they’re not going to see him, but he was in these past 13 episodes very frequently and they share a child, so I don’t want to scare people off about him not being in the show because the character is built into the fabric of the show, especially as the father of Mindy’s child,” Mindy told E! News. “People will not miss Danny because he’s going to be there. We would never do that to the audience, so people don’t have to worry about it.”
