Jada recently opened up to NPR about the importance of the female-led comedy, which also stars Queen Latifah, Regina Hall and Tiffany Haddish.
“I think it is important for black women to see us having this experience. And I also think it’s important for black women to see that just because it’s a movie starring black women, that we don’t have to hold it close – like, this is ours,” Jada expressed. “Nobody else can… You know what? No one else can. This is just for us – because it’s really not about that. And I do think, as a community, we have to be willing to share our space. And I know that that is a very sensitive subject. It is a beautiful thing to see four black women in a summer movie and having so many different people from so many backgrounds appreciate it. And I think that’s supremely important.”
FYI: Jada is wearing Established earrings at the TV appearance. She is wearing a Djula diamond ring, Le Vian diamond bracelet, a ring by EF Collection, and DVANI navy blue sapphire earrings to the Girls Trip screening.
