'Mission: Impossible 6' to Halt Production After Tom Cruise Breaks Ankle

UPDATE 8/16 at 2:10pm ET: Paramount has provided a statement to Just Jared: “During production on the latest Mission: Impossible film, Tom Cruise broke his ankle while performing a stunt. Production will go on hiatus while Tom makes a full recovery, and the film remains on schedule to open July 27, 2018. Tom wants to thank you all for your concern and support and can’t wait to share the film with everyone next summer.”

Tom Cruise was injured on the set of Mission: Impossible 6 and while the extent of his injuries are unknown, production is reportedly going to be shut down.

Variety is reporting that Paramount is waiting to hear word from Tom’s doctors on the extent of his injuries and will assess whether production will be shut down for six weeks or longer, possibly 3 months.

Tom may have broken his ankle in two places and hurt his hip.

We’re wishing him best and hope he makes a speedy recovery!
